Excellent all around. Noisy inside because it's slower. Outside it is out of this world. Zoom creep but not a big deal. I use one of those Lance Armstrong bracelets. All good... Love the lens!

I like the lens because it eleminates the need to carry more than one lens. I have used this lens for many different shooting oppertunities with out needing an additional lens. It has good range and produces clear sharp pictures every time.

I did a lot of review checking before buying this for my K20D and it turned out better than I expected, especially at the long end. I use the 250mm end for semi-macro with good results. Have also gotten some pretty good bird photos. It's also a good street photography lens. Closed, it's not as obvious as some other zooms and takes good portraits in the 80-110mm range. It stays on my camera 90% of the time. I do use a 50mm prime for night photography.

I use this lens as my only lens. I use it primarily for landscape and nature photography. I do not have to change lenses and risk dust and dirt inside my camera. It is compact, light, gives sharp images, and is convenient. The only complaint I have is the zoom does not hold well and it could be faster. For the price, it is hard to beat. I am pleased.

I bought this lens for its ability to cover a wide focal range with a single lens and it does so beautifully. It is a sharp lens, a little slow to focus but does a credible job. My example has a serious case of lens creep so I have to keep the lock on when walking around with it. It recently stopped zooming so it will be heading to the shop for a few weeks to get that fixed. Optically it's fine piece of engineering, 250mm on the long end, near macro close up. Mechanically however it is kind of loud when zooming, zoom creep got progressively worse as time went on and now it doesn't zoom at all. It's a bit of a disappointment.

Unlike one other reviewer, I find this an amazing lens, for the price or not. It must have taken a supercomputer to design it. It eliminates thousands of dollars of separate lenses in one bundle. For the amateur to serious enthusiast, I recommend this far above all the others.

Bought this to replace kit 18-55 on K10D and other Sigma 70-300 that is heavy and bulky to carry around. So far not dissapointed but would like deeper field
