The Sirui P-306 is a great monopod. The difference in weight between this and the carbon fiber version is insignificant and there is some savings with this version. This one is much more compact than most of the others that I looked at, it can fit in my bag if needed. The little compass that comes attached is a bit silly but otherwise it is great. So far I've used it with both my 70-200 and my 150-600.

Small, compact and light monopod. Nice design and sturdy too. The only missing is a cover bag . One star minus.

Small, compact and light monopod

I wanted a monopod to use with heavy astronomical binos. The first monopod I ordered was too flimsy. The Sirui P-306 does the job, as well as being perfect for my EOS 5D Mk III with 70-200 mm lens. I added a ballhead. The length of the sections can be adjusted and locked easily. While hiking recently, the trail was such that I asked my wife if she wanted a walking stick. She said yes, but asked where did I expect to get one out on the trail? I unscrewed the monopod from the camera and she had a sturdy walking stick.

Totally satisfied

The quality of this monopod is excellent. The construction is very sturdy and is small enough to fit into my camera pack without adding a lot of weight. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase!
