I bought this tripod specifically for travel because of its weight & small collapsed size. I have not been disappointed.

Excellent construction, very sturdy. Used for group portraits, low light situations. Very light, twist locks are somewhat more time consuming that flip locks but work well and provide adequate support and a stable platform. I attached a Slik AF2100 to it and the combination it hard to beat.

An excellent light weight tripod for digital cameras, great for backpacking situations with great flexibility of positioning with the adjustable legs. I recommend this tripod for the traveling nature photographer.

I fly a lot on business and this fits perfectly into even my smallest carryon. It's a little slow to set up since it has 4-section legs, but that's to be expected. Great stability to weight ratio at a reasonable price.

Simply a very good tripod at a reasonable price. Easy to use, same arrangement as in earlier models. Easy to attach to backpack due to light weight.

This is a nice, lightweight, carbon fiber tripod suitable for the beginner through casual expert photographer. Add a Slik SBH-280 or SBH-320 ballhead for $100 to $150 and you're set!

I have been very pleased with the Slik Pro 714 CF-II Series Carbon Fiber Tripod. The construction is impeccable, and the carbon fiber legs are beautifully made. The legs will open up to three different angles getting the tripod down to something like 7" from the ground, or floor. I have used this tripod to span creeks and ravines with no worries about its stability. If I lost this tripod today, I would buy another tomorrow.

The new SLIK PRO 714 CF-II tripod uses space-age carbon fiber material to reduce weight and improve rigidity for a more stable camera support. This model uses four leg sections to fold down to an incredibly small 18.1 inches. It's compact size and light weight of just three pounds makes it the perfect tripod for back-packing and hiking. Despite it's folded size, the PRO 714 CF-II tripod will reach eye-level when fully extended.
The PRO 714 CF-II has SLIK Twist-Lock Leg Locks to insure sturdy camera support. The Twist-Lock legs allow the tripod to support up to 10 pounds of camera equipment, more than enough to handle a digital SLR. The tripod is an excellent traveler, and can easily be strapped onto most of today's photo backpacks.
The PRO 714 CF-II maximum height reaches 61 inches (eye level). For low angle photography the PRO 714 CF-II has SLIK multi-angle leglocks that allow the angle of each leg to be positioned individually. Combined with the included short column, this full-sized tripod can be lowered to just 7.25 inches from the ground. Another benefit of the multi-angle leg locks is the tripod's ability for easy setup and positioning on uneven ground like rock or steps.
