This lens produced a severe magenta vignette on footage from my Blackmagic Pocket Camera. Considering the other positive reviews on this lens here, it may have been a defective copy. It's a shame because otherwise the lens had a nice build quality and created beautiful footage. Unfortunately, the magenta vignette made my copy unusable for professional use. I was very hopeful that the SLR Magic would be a great lens for me, but it seems like they might have some quality control issues.

I love all the SLR magic lens -this one tends to be a bit soft around the edges when wide open but very sharp image in the middle. The lens is heavy and ready for cine follow focus which I love. Great deal for the money. very cinematic

I was one of the first people to own this lens, and I have enjoyed it ever since. It has a special character, a set of tones and softness that comes with the impressive f0.92 (T0.95) aperture. The lens is sharp at f2.8 onwards and fits perfectly in Leica M and Sony Nex systems. My only cons is the weight, in my Sony A7II keeps coming slightly down from the adapter; therefore resulting in off-focused images.

For the price, this lens is perfect for a 50mm full frame equivalent on the BMPCC. Seems sharp enough, super close minimum focusing distance, nice bright aperture and pretty bokeh. Highly recommended.

This is a beautifully built, fast lens with a lot of character. It's not the sharpest lens -- in fact it's actually a little soft, but it has a very pleasing image that is very cinematic. It reminds of older Angenieux lens, a little low contrast, rather prone to flare (in an interesting way). Not for everybody, and if you value razor sharpness over all else this is the best choice, but I like it.

This is considered a "normal" lens on Micro four thirds format. It is a great all around lens if you are a filmmaker. It is sharp, extremely fast, and geared for follow focus units. It definately has a nice bokeh and feels more cinematic than other lenses. The barrel is all metal and feels very solid. Of course it's an all manual lens. The only thing I couod be picky about is that the f-stop scale is not set very linear. The gaps betwee .95 an 4 are larger than the smaller stops 8, 11, 16. The lens makes for very good two shots with a soft BG if you have some room to place the camera properly, or a single person, chest up, in closer quarters. Get a lens shade for it, this will reduce flare issues. Otherwise, this lens is excellent for the money.

I just got my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and immediately bought this SLR Magic 25mm lens, as well as the 50mm of the same brand. I read some reviews that said these were good low light lenses, as well as good for video - due to the declicked aperture. Please note that this lens gets sharp at an f2. Below that, you get a nice image, but it's slightly fogged - not too unlike using a fog filter. Bright lights or objects bloom. It's a nice dreamy look, but not appropriate for all situations. Interestingly, the 50mm is much faster than the 25mm. A f4 on the 50mm is nearly as bright as a f2 in the 25mm, which is quite a bit of difference. When I get a third lens I'll know which is closer to true. If you are looking for razor-thin depth-of-field, this is the lens for you. At f0.95, the dof is literally in the millimeters when shooting inserts. Focus is hard to keep - thankfully the BMPCC has focus peaking. I am waiting for the 12mm SLR Magic to arrive, and will update. I haven't had the chance to do a comparison with the Voightlander, but am happy with this purchase, as it has the declicked aperture and follow focus gears. Also, the lens is nice and heavy. It does not feel cheap, instead it's heavy-duty glass and metal.

Within hours of receiving my 25mm T0.95 MFT lens, I had an outdoor evening concert to shoot. I handheld the whole shoot and used no flash. As the light dwindled, I continued to get sharp shot after sharp shot of the audience, something I just could never achieve with my previously-fastest lens, not for lack of trying. I love it! I am looking forward to lots of fun shooting with this lens. This lens, even though it's quite compact, is also quite heavy. It's clear that the lens is metal and glass throughout, and lots of both. It feels substantial. I only have two 'complaints' so far, and they are more suggestions for the future... the direction that I hope MFT will go as a camera system. First, manual focusing will take some getting used to again, back to my pre-autofocus days, and I hope future MFT camera bodies can make this step a little easier when using manual lenses on digital bodies. Not a reflection on the lens at all, but the camera I'm using it on (an OMD E-M5). Second, I do wish the lens had just enough electronics to report its 'stats' to the camera, so that real f-stop and focal length info could get recorded in each image's metadata, and so that you could see what f-stop you're shooting without taking the camera down from your face. Like I said: wish list for the future. None of that, though, detracts from the fact that this a GREAT lens. I recommend it enthusiastically!!! It's one of those lenses that establishes an immediate connection between you and your subjects in a way few other lenses do!

I greatly enjoy this lens. It has a solid build and excellent focus feel. It is especially nice since fuji just updated to include focus peaking, making focusing a breeze with this lens. Many people do not like the fact that the aperture does not click. I does not bother me. Wide open, this lens is soft, however bokeh is brilliant. It also focuses rather close which is a nice bonus.
