This lens is actually great.I prefer it over the Nikon 18-200mm VR ED IF.The contrast is somewhat strong so be careful.I find I have to over-expose my shots under certain lightning. When I use auto focus at 28mm and then I zoom in to see if my subject is focused....it's not,so I tend to use manual focus at certain times.I have taken shots of flying bluejays using auto focus with great results. It's a matter of getting used to.Bottom line is that it's a very beautiful lens and handles nicely.Again, exposures can be a little too dark.
