This bag holds all of my gear except my tripod. However it is to big to fit under the seat on aircraft.

I use this bag to put in the car loaded with the DSLR camera and extra lens plus a speed light and take it to botanical gardens and family events.

I bought this to use as my "personal item" when flying so that I can carry on my suitcase and not worry if they insist on putting it in the hold due to lack of space. It is a well constructed, well designed case. Easily holds your DSLR and lenses. I have not tested my 17" HP laptop to see if it fits. When I received the product the literature referenced a 17" apple.

The Messenger 9 is similar to the Messenger 7 but was specifically designed to hold a notebook computer in a large, expandable, foam-padded back pocket.
The Messenger 9 features a TurboTop to provide instant access to the main compartment that will hold a camera with an attached lens up to 7 ½" long with four to five lenses, a flash, and even another camera body.
The large, expandable foam-padded back pocket accommodates Apple's new 17" PowerBook G4 or other large notebooks up to 13 ½" x 10 ½" x 2" in size. When not in use, the zippered back compartment quickly converts into a slim document pocket.
Two full-length dividers keep documents or a thin notebook computer separate from photo equipment. Internal organizer pockets hold personal items like a notebook, sunglasses, pens, and small accessories. A large Windowpane-Mesh pocket inside the TurboTop stores extra film.
Outside, an open pleated pocket in the front, a side pocket for a mobile phone, two zipper-closing pockets and a M.A.S attachment slot provide many storage options.
Travel comfortably with the sliding foam-padded shoulder pad and the Piggy-Back Pocket that holds the bag on your rolling luggage. If you need to carry a notebook computer with your photo equipment, the Messenger 9 is the bag for you.
