Very good product, the sound is good. I will be honest it's not the best but I can tell for sure that its better than my iphone 11 microphone.

Good product for a low budget

This is a great mic! It?s small, light and plug and play. No batteries required. It doesn?t get easier! Picks up sound great at distance, no need to crowd your camera anymore. It?s so light you don?t even feel it on your camera. I love it!

Excellent cristal clear sound, no batteries needed, cushioned air filter and easy instal in camera. It says is directional, but it picks up sound even from behind the microphone. Ideal for interviewing someone. The best I have had. Recommended.

The mic picks up the sounds it detects. If you want good audio from your voice speaking to the camera directly, you've gotta find a way to get close to it.

Great sound!

This microphone was everything I needed. Great crisp sound quality, easy adjustability with the length of the cord in the event I needed to have the mic off the camera. Truly worth the purchase. This has allowed me to shoot clearer, more concise video without having to worry about the audio lacking. Highly recommend.

Great microphone for entry level and up videographers.

You can feel the difference between the camera mic and this one. Is a great add and come with the dead cat to avoid the wind. Doesn’t have any button to control the gain. Plug and play.

Good mic

This mic maybe a great addon to cameras that have horrible build-in microphones, but this doesn't sound any better than my sony's build-in stereo mic.

This also do not have any advanced features the slightly better VideoMic or VideoMic Pro have (both requires batteries though).

But it really is easy to setup and use, with a detachable audio cable and a slimmer profile compared to the videomic/pro. If you do not need +20db/-10db or high/low pass filter option then this is the mic for you.

No improvement over exsisting on camera mic (Sony A7 III)

I am very satisfied with my purchase. It arrived in record time and the company was extremely easy to deal with. I would highly recommend others to think about this external mic, it made an significant improvement in recordings.

Great mic for YouTube

I bought this microphone for purposes of producing videos for my YouTube channel and blog site I was using this microphone on a Nikon D3200. You may have seen other reviews where this microphone captures lots of background noise and noise from the camera in my case I found if I set the audio levels manually and turn off auto audio on my camera it Cut back tremendously on the interference noises making it so much easier to edit the audio. I highly recommend this microphone to anyone Who is looking for an affordable way to get great audio. PS  I also tried filming with my iPhone 7 And filled in the native camera app and there was no two little interference noises in my video

I don’t know why but whenever I use it with my Sony a6300 I get humming sound maybe it’s the pre-amp in the camera or the mic but I haven’t gotten any good samples out of it yet so I can’t say if it is better with different cameras

I bought this without checking the list of cameras it will work on. Guess what, mine is one of the ones that will not work with it. I had already thrown away the original packaging, Now I have a $ mic that I can't use. Be sure and check the list of mics that will work. I am 67 years old and this is the first time I have purchased a microphone that will not work. I don't blame Adorama as they would have taken it back with the original packaging. Good day.

I bought the RODE videomic Lightweight at Adorama it was on sale for ($)was very happy. Until I actually tried it. I used it on a Nikon D610. Adjusted the preferences on the camera to have a volume with peak at 8/10. Then I downloaded the videos on my Mac and what a poor audio I got. This is nothing better than the on camera speakers (comparable to an iPhone.) Horrible. I recoded my friend's live band in a bar and besides the noises around (people chatting, glasses and plates) were clearly audible like a bell, the quality of the audio was really scarce. What a waste of money! I'm afraid there's no professional audio at 80 bucks on the market.. You can save the money and record the video with your iPhone 5. The video quality may not be that of a DSLR on HF but the audio will be the same.

I'll keep this short...does the job great, just make sure you learn to adjust the audio levels IN THE CAMERA for best results!
