Like a prime!!!

I've had this lens for a couple of years now.  I still love it.  Much more compact than the Sony f2.8 and really hard to discern the quality difference.  For half the cost, I would definitely purchase again.

Good lens for the price

I wanted a midrange f/2.8 zoom lens and this was the first alternative to Sony 24-70/2.8 GM with was probably about $2200 in 2019! So Tamron at $800 was about 1/3 of that! And I had seen comparisons that established the image quality to be nearly the same. So it was a no-brainer. I must point out that the GM is 880 grams while Tamron is 550 grams and for similar image quality and focal range and price and weight advantage, there was no comparison for me. I wasn't a busy wedding photographer, but an occasional event shooter and primarily a real estate photographer.
I highly recommend this lens, however Sigma 24-70/2.8 Art was not available then and depending on your budget and needs you might consider Sigma for better build and optical quality as well as 24mm on the wide end which is pretty major difference if you shoot in tight spaces.
The focusing is absolutely silent and accurate and the images are plenty sharp on 24MP of A7iii.

I haven't used my new lens that much but I already love it. For its price and its capabilities I cannot recommend it more.
It could definitely use a UV filter though to maximize the quality of your photo and video.

This lens is so versatile! I use it mainly for landscape wedding portraits of venues and couples! Great for this! & love how incredibly sharp it is!

Must have for weddings!

It was surprisingly good for its price.  I needed a filler between 20mm-70mm and it does it well.  Having f/2.8 and up to 75mm allows me to take pictures at 50mm and I can get by with portraits at 75mm.   It is a great lens to leave on the camera for most circumstances.

Awesome lens

Bought this with the hopes it would be used in enough rotation with my 21mm, 28mm & 85mm prime lenses, and my 70-200mm GM lens, to make it worthwhile. 

I'm embarrassed to now say, I used it for >90% of all stills and video I shoot. I can rarely justify using any other lens.
