Used Olympus HLD-6P Power Battery Holder for OM-D E-M5 Mark II Camera (Pairs with Optional HLD-8G Grip)

This power battery holder gives the extra power and battery life for a day of shooting. It feels great in my hand and give me extra grip on the camera. Olympus´ idea of making the HLD-8G grip and the HLD-6P two different separable products are great, so you can decide where you want to use the grip only for extra comfort, handling the camera or with the power battery so you can better battery life and a good grip. The only con is that using both makes your camera a little bit bulky, and can be an issue for some people especially when travelling

I love that the grip and battery holder are separable, because the grip will seldom leave my camera. If course it adds a little bulk and weight (but you'd be carrying the extra battery anyway!). Note that the "lock" switch disables the additional buttons on the holder...this is not well explained by the literature.

I ordered this battery module/grip together with my OM-D E-M5 camera shortly after the camera began shipping, and love it. The extra power capacity equates to my being able to shoot for a whole day without the need to change batteries. The grip really gives a solid hand on the camera when shooting vertically, and owing to this grip, I appreciate that my camera is so easily handled in any orientation. I've programmed and reprogrammed the two function buttons to suit my shooting experience, and find all the buttons are easily found by touch without removing the camera from my eye. While I also have the OM-D E-M1, I will purchase the OM-D E-M5 MkII in just a couple months. I am elated that I can use this same battery grip with the MkII, how cool is THAT!? Thank you Olympus for the consideration to you existing customers in the OM-D line. ---- NOTE FROM OLYMPUS: HLD-6 Owners: This product is identical to the Battery Grip portion of the HLD-6 grip made for the E-M5. If you already own that grip, you can use it with the E-M5 Mark II when combined with the new HLD-8G Grip. This will mount on both the E-M5 (with HLD-6G Grip) and the E-M5 Mark II (with HLG-8G Grip).
