It's pretty easy to operate and the video and audio quality is very good. Battery life is average. The only two things I'd like to see as an improvement, would be a better wind reduction function or reengineering of the microphone placement or design. Also an addition of an external microphone input would have made me possibly give this 5 stars... I would recommend this camera to just about anyone. It's a good value for the money overall.

Found at Best Buy on clearance to replace older Disk Handycam with dying batteries. Worth the money. Very lightweight and battery life is good. Could use head phone jack for viewing in private and the interface takes some time to learn. Projector is nice but kind of a gimmick. Miss other things like a touch screen and viewfinder that my older Handycams have. Love the memory option as a fast 32GB card will hold A LOT of HD video. Could not upload music like it states.

Small enough for you hoodie or coat pocket. Yet great for movies or stills. Good battery life. A great addition for all of you ready for great video from a camera that you can keep with you. Great value.

My family really likes this camcorder with built-in projector and hdmi cable also. Its so convenient if you want to project footage right where you stand you can. It will give us lasting memories of our daughter college rugby career and of our grandson.

VERY LIGHT, RECORDS BOTH VIDEO & STILL PICS. VERY GOOD RESOLUTION ON ALL. PROJECTORS' MENU IS ON WALL OR WEREEVER YOU'RE POINTING IT (TOP OF TABLE) SO YOU HAVE TO SCROLL THRU WHILE WATCHING ON WALL/TABLE - NOT VERY EASY TO SEE. CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO UPLOAD OTHER VIDEO TO SHOW WITH PROJECTOR - THE MAIN REASON I BOUGHT IT. PC CONNECTION IS EASY TO DOWNLOAD VIDEOS/PICS.

I got this camcorder specifically for a Air-Show event. That's because I wanted to do hybrid video with photos and video. Also, I needed a zoom for video and a DSLR would not be as stable. It is a great little camcorder with a projector. I like the manual exposure modes, and manual focus and WB. And the zoom with stabilization is amazing. Tracking targets is not a problem. Also, the video codec and format is easy to work with in post processing. And it uses the same battery as my Sony HDR-AS100v action cam. The battery life is good, video quality at 60p is good. And, the onboard mic sound quality is pretty good. The downers of this camera are: no 30p no 24p at 1080HD, only 60i and 60p. Also, the snapshot image quality is not that great if you use it for 1920x1080HD. Also, the startup time is long, about 8-12 seconds. So having it on and in stand by mode is essential at event shooting. Some will fault it for not having a external mic input, but this is not the type of camcorder to build a system on. It's a consumer camcorder for the masses. Overall, you could spend thousands for a super zoom lens for your DSLR to shoot air-shows. or you could spend thousands for a heavy full function pro camcorder. But if you only do personal production, this is a great camera. And, having a decent budget camcorder with great tracking and stabilization can add a lot more content to your photo/video production than just a still photo.

As a camcorder, it takes great video, has a wonderful optical zoom capability. I like the wifi pairing remote view and controls with my iPad or Android phone. The NFC doesn't' seem to work with my Galaxy S4, I suspect it works best with Sony phones. The stills are pretty sub-par. I would rather use my phone for pics than this thing. I got this camcorder with a dual-purpose intent. I had a pico projector before, so I decided to get this which has a projector and HDMI input in lieu of a camcorder and separate pico projector. I knew it had low lumens going in, but yikes, it really has difficulty. Using it to review captured content is convenient and pretty good, but it really struggles for decent HDMI input playpack. It's dim, low resolution, there is some weird side-glow artifacts, the color saturation is off, and the contrast is horrible. I tried watching the 1989 Batman on it, I could hardly make out anything, even in a very dark room. Bright videos that don't require you seeing detail are ok. It's almost useless if you hook in your laptop and try to use it. It's better to just use your laptop screen. In summary, If you want first and foremost to take high quality 1080p videos (not so much pics), you'll do fine with this. The projector is a fun quick playback feature, but not very practical for much else.

I have not used the camcorder a lot since my purchase. I bought it because my husband and I both took the same snapshots on our trip to Scotland last fall and I wanted a different view from his for the next trip. Now we need to go somewhere special. I have used it around home and my only complaint is that it takes a long time to start up and many menu options to go through before you can record. Sometimes the event I want to record is over by then.
