Read and write speed are great. Looks like it will hold up if I need to transport files I am working on.

I use this drive on location for capturing and editing photos. It provides additional storage space in a low profile unit and keeps my laptop from getting filled up during a photo shoot. I had an earlier version of this drive in the past and broke the internal USB3 connection. Had that drive replaced and now use it only as a TimeMachine back up. The Thunderbolt connection feels much more secure and offers a much faster response from the drive. I still take care to unplug the cable before packing the drive away. The 1TB is a little fatter and heavier than the 500MB. So far, I am very happy with this little unit. I have learned to never trust important files to only one drive....
