Shopper : To what depth is this camers good to?RITA M : It isn't very good deep....good for snorkeling only I would say. I wouldn't recommend getting it...spend a little more and get a much better one.GLENN S : I have used the camera several times to 30 feet. I've had the camera now for about a year and honestly don't remember the technical depth rating for this camera. I'm a freediver and have used this extensively for stills and video and while the camera isn't without limitations - it is definitely worth the money! This was my first underwater camera and I didn't want to run the risk of ruining an expensive camera underwater until I learned more about diving with cameras. I'm glad I bought this camera. Still works well (and so does the dive housing). Just be sure to lubricate the O ring carefully every time you open the housing to change the batteries. Also, I would not recommend using the batteries that come with the camera, as they won't last for more that a couple dozen pictures, and you will be left with the false impression that battery life in this camera is not good. I recommend this camera to a first time underwater camera buyer. If you have any more questions about the camera - feel free to contact me.TOM K : I used mine while snorkeling in relatively shallow water, but I did dive as far down as I could and never had a problem with leaks. However, light is an entirely different issue at any depth and this camera needs a lot of it. Image quality overall is not much better than a single-use film camera, and battery life is VERY short.
Shopper : What are the best things about this camera?GLENN S : Clearly the low price for an all inclusive underwater camera with housing was a critical factor in my decision to buy this camera. I have now taken more that 300 pictures at depths down to 30 feet, on at least six dives. I feel that while this is not a high resolution camera, and the camera works best in a full sun environment, I have gotten my money's worth without a doubt. Just be aware that the LCD display is not bright and that you must put in fresh batteries before each dive - and you will have no problems.STARR B : It was lightweight and easy to use. It funtions on dry land and just as well in water. Just don't forget to insert the memory card like I did! :(
Shopper : Does this come with the waterproof case as shown? Or is the camera waterproof without the case?RITA M : NO, it has to have the case... i was surprised when i got mine as i was expecting it to just be a waterproof underwater camera.GARY M : It come with a separate plastic case designed specifically for the camera... You unlatch it and the camera comes out of the case and can be used like any point and shoot... It's a great camera for the price.... A few times its taken better underwater shots then my 800.00 camera grr!!!BRETT S : The camera comes with a separate case that seals over the actual camera making it waterproof . The camera itself separately is not waterproof . The case also makes the camera float which is great . I recently used camera in the Cayman Islands while snorkeling , for the cost it worked excellent . Battery life with regular batteries is short , would recommend using proper rechargeable batteries . For the money this is a good little camera and much more economical than using disposable under water cameras , hope this helps.LINDA D : It comes with the case shown.
