Excellent tool for writing music. Inspirational. Can be difficult setting up the FW to a DAW. Much better instructions needed by Yamaha. Had to rely on people from the Yamaha Forum.

I dumped my Triton (now backup keyboard...sorry KG folks) for the Motix XF8 and have not been disappointed. The sound is mind blowing. I use it to sequence Everything is cool except its not touch-screen :( It is phenomenal!!! The sound is something else!

I purchased my motif xf8 about 2 weeks ago. I'm not new to Yamaha, I had a motif XS8 also. No other workstation can compare, the sounds are great, easy to use, and best of all is the keybed. It has the best feel. I've owned a lot of workstations and most recent the korg Kronos. It had some good sounds but that's about it. After having it a few months, I sold it to go back to yamaha. I don't think I'll ever leave yamaha again when it comes to a keyboard workstation.

I actually just came off a long stint as a Roland user. I traded a 16 yr old XP-80 and a 10 yr old XV-88 in. I also traded a TS-12 Ensoniq. All this down to one keyboard, the XF-8. I am in the first week of use and am currently building my favourites lists. I cannot begin to tell you what a joy it is to play. I have not felt something this good under my fingers since my Korg Trinity ProX V 3 88. The sounds coming out of my Fender PA sound great and I feel almost like I am sat at my old Karl Kutschera (19th century grand)I used to own. Learning curve is large, but, anything worthwhile takes time. I would highly recommend this for composers/live performers. Best purchase in the last 30 yrs.
