Questions & Answers

ROGER S : will this work with Nixon 5500?Kevin G : Just to clarify - It will not work with "any" nikon camera. It will not work with a Nikon D2x. It will work with your Nikon 5500 because it worked fine with my sons camera and that is what he had.MICHAEL Y : The short answer is yes. It works with any Nikon with the TTL function. If you wanting it to do HSS, it won't. There is no Auto FP sync setting in camera. You won't get the Auto FP settings until you get into the 7000 series Nikon's.RICHARD T : It worked great with my D5300 and now with my D7200 so I'm prettysure it would work with a D5500.
Shopper : Is the YN 568EX compatible with D600 and D300 Nikons. What is it's advantage over the 565EX flash?MICHAEL Y : Yes, it is compatible with the D600 and D300. It's major advantage is that with the D600, it has the High Speed Sync capability that allows you to use flash over your camera's 'standard" sync speed- in the case of the D600 that is 1/250th. You can use unit as high as your camera goes in terns of shutter speed and NOT get the "banding" in your images. The YN-565 doesn't support this feature.STEPHEN K : It is compatible with the d600, d300. It will not work as a commander but will respond as a slave in the Nikon cls system. I do not own the 565 so I can't comment on the differences. I can say it is a great flash with a more power than my sb -700. It does not come with a diffuser cap but a Canon 580 fits it perfect.Josef S : hey, I use my 568EX together with a D610 without any problems. Notice: I mainly use it in manual mode. For TTL work, where I have to have the right exposure (weddings, events), I use my Nikon-Flash. The Yongnuos tend to under- or overexpose by one to two stops. The only difference I know between the two flashes: 568 does HSS but has no battery port, 565 has a battery port for an extension pack but no HSS. Hope this helps.
Shopper : Does this flash support Nikon's Master/Commander/Slave modes similar to the SB-800; e.g., can I control/adjust the output and TTL EV on this unit remotely using a Nikon iTTL compatible camera's flash?

Good Value

Got a couple of these to pair with a SB-800 as the power is roughly equal. They are compatible fully with that set up as off camera flashes. Don't always go off, but they are feature rich enough to get the job done for me.I'd say they are a better value than Nikon's flashes for the money for sure. Don't have the latest tech in the SB5000, but that is to be expected. I'd suggest them honestly, just be sure that they are positioned in a way that if you use them off camera that they actually trigger.

Brilliant Speedlite at an Economical Price

Fantastic product for the money. Adding to my other speedlites and a yongnuo speedlite that is about 12 years old and still works perfectly. Using specifically for TTL at events. Looking forward to many years of service from YN568EX

Great alternative to high-priced Nikon flashes

This flash unit is extremely well-built, and rivals the expensive Nikon flashes. Highly recommended.

Love It - But

I would easily give this flash 5 stars. However, 1 - I don't know how it is going to hold up ( how durable it is) and 2 - it does not work in TTL mode on my Nikon D2x. I have to use it in manual mode, which is not a problem. It just isn't what I thought I was getting. I use 2 of these as slaves and they do very well. I will buy them again and I would recommend them, just with an explanation that you need to be sure it will TTL on your specific Nikon camera.

It works great, either as a slave or on top of my old D80

After a lot of research, I chose this flash because of i-ttl compatability, flash power and price. It worksgreat, either as a slave or on top of my old D80. Amazing how the price has decreased and the power/quality has increased.

Does its job as should

Does its job as should when an increase in shutter speed is needed. I am able to shoot al speeds of up to 1/8000 of a second using the flash, for birding and portraits. Not giving a complete 5 due to the lack of light power needed for a perfect exposure. Yongnu must upgrade to a higher amount of light coming from the flash; if they do this would be a total winner for its price.

Overall a good cheap alternative to the brand ones.

Used it last weekend. I had bought 2. Their functionality is slightly inconsistent seeing that I have the same exact ones, but one wouldn't go to a menu that the other would. Other than that, recycle time is as expected. Instructions are horrible, so don't expect too much help there.

Yongnuo YN-568EX I 4-Channel TTL Flash Speedlite for Nikon i-TTL Cameras

568 is an excellent little flash. I have used it several times for indoor functions and have never had a failure. Using it fast and furious can warm up the batteries, but the flash just keeps going. I have also combined it with the YN622N trigger. Works perfectly in that environment too.

GREAT FLASH WITH TTL & HSS

Yongnuo offers unmatched value. This is my eighth Yongnuo flash and all have worked perfectly. Similar in output to their manual YN 560 IV and ttl Yn 565 but with HSS added. There is enough output to work with the Neewer 32 inch or 47 inch octoboxes. However, to utilize HSS off camera, as in an octobox/softbox their YN 622 trigger/receiver units are required. Highly recommended way to achieve the wide aperture look outdoors without spending much more on B2's or Flashpoint 600.

This one is really a good buy in that price range. Other lenses compare to this are more expensive.

The flash seems to work ok. Haven't had the opportunity to use it very much yet

If you have never used an iTT flash then this could be a challenge. The instructions LACKED. Very poorly written. The flash seems to work ok. Haven't had the opportunity to use it very much yet.

Solid Flash

I have been using this flash for the past few weeks and have been pleased. It isn't a high end flash but for what its worth, it gets the job done! An easy flash to use and trouble shooting isn't hard as there are a lot of individuals out there that you can ask help with. Im not sure if it was just me and user error or if the compatibility was off but I was unable to use this flash with certain transmitters and//or sync cords. Overall I am happy.

dissapointed

bought my first yongnuo from and it kind off stopped working mid wedding shoot, i was so embarrassed because it kept flashing in full power but it didn't synchronize with my d750 again. i had to get my assistant to hold up a continuous light till i finished the wedding. and yet again i was dumb to buy another from this store and same thing happened while shooting another wedding. i am so done with this flash. my advice, it is not good for event or wedding photography . you will be embarrassed.

Great TTL flash

This is my second YN-568 and I love them both. They do what their supposed to do. They also work great as manual flashes on or off camera. Combined with TN-622N RX and TX their even better. For the price you can' beat them.

Very impressed!

I have not bought a camera flash since back in the days of my old Nikon N2020 film camera, but boy has this come a long way since then! I am very impressed with all the features on this flash gun and it looks to be very solidly made. I have used this for a month or so, and it really does well on my D7100. Very happy.

You won't be sorry.

I would recommend this product to anyone wanting quality workmanship in a flash. This unit was recommended on a photo website. I took the plunge and am very happy with it. The features meet and match the more expensive units. Showed it to a friend who used to work for a studio and she was impressed too. I will replace my other more expensive units with this model when needed.

Great ttl flash

I have 4 yongnuo flash units they all work great. I also use their ttl triggers which work good on several Nikon Models... check for your model though... some are not compatible withthe triggers. Use the YN622N Controller with the triggers and it works good. Anyway the quality and reliability of these flash units are great. Only down side to this model here (YN-568EX) is no Nikon CLS commander function as the master flash... and no external battery connection. Other than these two shortcomings... this flash is golden.

When it comes to speedlights for the Nikon system, the 568ex is as good as it gets. With as much power as an SB 800 from Nikon, for 1/3 the price, how can you go wrong? This flash can do it all: i-TTL capable, HSS (high speed sync, up to 1/8000 based on your cameras abilities), CLS control, and more.

This speedlight is compatible with Nikon and Canon wireless flash systems, meaning you can trigger it remotely as your primary flash or as a slave unit in concert with other flashes and strobes. It also has a quick recycle time of 3 seconds at its highest brightness settings and a much quicker recycle as you bring the brightness down. The recycle rate can also be sped up if you connect external power, such as a battery pack.

FP/HSS Function is now supported by Yongnuo's YN568EX Speedlite

Supports High-Speed Sync Flash
With high-speed sync (FP flash), the YN568EX can synchronize with all shutter speeds; the maximum shutter sync is up to 1/8000.

Compatible with N's and C's Wireless Flashing System
One YN568EX is able to respectively accept internal flashing of 580EX II, SB-900/800/700, 7D/60D/600D, and ST-E2 wireless signal; allows external TTL and manual flashing. Some beckoning functions such as wireless TTL flashing, grouping light ratio, TTL flashing and the illumination of remote controlled flashing will work optimally only if you carry a camera with a built-in flashing command system and YN568EX.

A New TTL Flash with Large Guide Number - GN58 @ ISO100, 105mm; which reaches the level of mainstream hot shoe flashes, supports HSS, TTL/M/Multi mode.

Multiple Trigger Mode Supported - The YN568EX can be triggered by the camera set-top, built-i n or m ain-controlled flashing command, S1 and S2 (pre-flash-canceled mode).

Supports Auto/Manual Zooming - Full-frame/Half-frame switchable with 24~105mm zooming range.

Comprehensively Supports TTL Functions - The YN568EX supports HSS, FEC, FEB, Rear-curtain sync, FE lock, Modeling Light.

Charging Recycle - With fully charged batteries, the recycle time from a full power flash is only 3 seconds; it is much faster on lower settings.

2.5mm PC Synchronous Interface - Sometimes it makes PC sync more seamless to use a physical line.

Sound Prompting System - When the sound prompting system is enabled, you'll hear audio feedback about the lighting conditions so you don't have to take your eye off the shot.

Depth-of-Field/Modeling Light - Press down the camera's depth-of-field preview button, and the YN568EX will send out continuous flash lasting one second.

Advanced Settings on Flash - The YN568EX has an advanced-options setting function, where you can self-define the functions of the flash for your own requirements.

Automatic Settings Saving - YN568EX automatically saves your settings for future use.
