The solar charger is great for a boost of energy for your devices, including gps systems (like a garmin) and phones. It charges devices rather quickly also. My only 2 compaints is that it seems to never fully charge, neither using the usb cord or by solar power, and that the 2nd panel is a little flimsy and has no spring mechanism (it uses a magnet to close). It does work in many kinds of light and in dim conditions. The little lcd light is powerful also...
