Comments about Vivitar Vivitar Series 1 Wireless 2-in-1 Shutter Release for Nikon D300 & D700:
I agree wholeheartedley with the review by Jim from Chicago. This is a complete waste of money and is useless on my D300 camera. Worthless instructions written on a piece of paper the size of a postage stamp. Upon opening and trying the unit out it worked fine. A couple weeks later it did not work at all. ad the battery tested and it registered low. Replaced battery $8.00, but the unit still did not work. Contacted Vivitar and they had me return the unit, $7.00. Received new unit and it does not work. Contacted Vivitar and was told to replace battery. Batter checked and found it to be low. replaced battery, $8.00. Now Vivitar says to send the unit back again. I'll have $30.00 additional costs in this piece of junk and not sure if I'll receive one that does work.

Comments about Vivitar Vivitar Series 1 Wireless 2-in-1 Shutter Release for Nikon D300 & D700:
The description made the product sound wonderful. When it arrived I was surprised that I had to guess which way to put in the battery (no "+" or "-"). The instructions were printed in a font that was way too small, and by someone who never wrote an instruction manual. When I hooked it to my beloved D300, it caused the shutter to continuously fire, taking 5 pictures per second on the inside of my lens cap. The pathetic little manual provides no diagnostic assistance, and the Vivitar web site is useless for support. All in all... a pathetic product.

Great product for the price!!
Build rugged and seems like will last a long time.
Well thought design and carrying accessories and key chain!
A must have for macros, long exposures and group shots on a Nikon D300.

Comments about Vivitar Vivitar Series 1 Wireless 2-in-1 Shutter Release for Nikon D300 & D700:
I was pleasantly surprised by the consistency I had gotten from this remote. Normally I am a brand man. Apple, Nikon, etc, but though initially skeptical, I can say that this is a fine remote that I would recommend to others who need more range then IR can give.
