Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint Professional Battery Grip for the Canon T2i & 550D Digital Cameras:

This grip is awesome, I picked it up because it is so much cheaper than the Canon grip. It adds much needed weight to my T2i. It also makes it easier to hold, my pinky used to not fit on the camera when holding it but now it does. The battery life on the T2i is amazing and with this my battery life lasts all day.

The only thing i don't like about it is that there is no ISO button on the top, like on the main controls, other than that all the other buttons are in the same place and work great.

This is an excellent product and the quality of construction is first rate.

I've used it continuously since received. Most of my photography is shot outside and I have had no problem with cold, snow, or extreme cold soaking. It works as advertised.

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint Professional Battery Grip for the Canon T2i & 550D Digital Cameras:

After reading many reviews before purchasing my first DSLR (the T2i) I noticed that many people complained about the weight and size of the Rebel bodies compared to others, and many people felt that the Rebels handled much better when used with a battery grip. So along with my order for the T2i I purchased this grip, as it was cheaper than the Canon version.

It most certainly does improve the feel of the camera, and I don't like to use the camera without it. Really balances out the weight of the camera with some of my heavier lenses. Having the extra battery life is great, and when my batteries ran low one night, it was great being able to just grab some AA's to start taking pictures again.

The build quality feels nice, it doesn't feel or look cheap and matches the camera body very well. The buttons feel solid, and the rubber gripping gives you a good hold of the camera. I keep a quick release plate permanently mounted on the bottom as I use a tripod regularly, and have no problem trusting the build construction to support the grip, camera and expensive lenses while on the tripod.

I have not used the Canon version, so I can't give a comparison between the two.

I didn't realize this at first, but the part of the grip that gets inserted into the camera has a small space to insert the battery door (that needs to be removed to install the grip) so it doesn't get lost. If you want to take the grip off, the battery compartment door is always with the camera this way, no digging around to find where you put it.

The only negative thing with the grip so far has been with the black plastic finish on the grip. Before taking a hike through the woods, I doused myself pretty well with deet insect repellent as the mosquitoes around here have been rather rabid as of late. I wiped my hands clean of it (or so I thought), yet after 30 minutes I started to notice the grip felt sticky. I looked at my hands, and black finish from the grip was rubbing off on my hands. Now the finish in some spots looks a little smudged even after wiping it down. Probably just a problem with the insect repellent, though there were no warnings on the can about it damaging certain materials. (No problems with the finish on the camera itself, as I had it covered with a Delkin Snug-it.)

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint Professional Battery Grip for the Canon T2i & 550D Digital Cameras:

I shoot film and video on a regular basis with my T2i and go through my four batteries quickly.

This allows me to keep from changing batteries as it holds 2 instead of 1 naturally. I didn't realize it when ordering but it includes a 2nd internal rack to hold 6 AA batteries. Bonus if you suddenly find yourself out of power with your main batteries.

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint Professional Battery Grip for the Canon T2i & 550D Digital Cameras:

this is a great deal. I almost paid over twice the price for the name brand. It screws on tight. The finish is a perfect match to the camera, so it looks as if it is the brand name grip. Helps to balance out the camera when uses larger zoom lens and makes it easier to hold when taking portraits. Like the adapter that allows you to use AA batteries in a pinch.

Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint Professional Battery Grip for the Canon T2i & 550D Digital Cameras:

Since I couldnt find a review, I thought I would add one myself for anyone who is considering this. I just bought this from the store in the last hour and just tested it to make sure it works.[...]Fairly easy to install with the included directions. Directions are in multiple languages so should be able to cover most of the world. The batteries, bought separately, were charged out of the box and I was able to install them easily. It fits snugly, did not feel loose, and all the buttons worked as they should (vertical shutter, Av, +, -, and dial).I got this to balance out some of my heavier lenses and it will do the trick. I have not used the Canon version or anyother battery pack for comparison, as the t2i is my first dslr.
