Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this camera. For an SLR to start out on and grow into, it's been a great choice. The photo quality is very impressive. It's easy to use. It's design is well thought out. If I have one complaint it's that the photo-mode dial can be turned a little too easily, I'd like a bit more resistance. But that's it. Love it, if you want a starter SLR with a few more bells and whistles to it, this is the one.

I love to take nature photos with this camera. It is a great camera, and the kit lens is very satisfactory. I also purchased the Canon 55-250mm f 4-5.6 is telephoto zoom lens from Adorama which I highly recommend as well.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

I purchased the camera for my son. The refurbished camera has in every way been as good as new. This is a great camera with ISO performance better than the 50D and very near the T2i or 7D but with a few less megPix. This camera is one of the best values in my opinion since you get video and very high resolution.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

Even though this item was refurbished, the quality is superb. I've had this camera for two months now, and beside a scratch on the LCD (Which I only found out when I took the protective film off. It is only visible when the screen is off, and does not affect picture quality in any way) everything else is what you get from a brand new unit.
Very satisfied.

This T1i has been the gateway for me. I have been published in an anthology of 300 photographs. I must have done something right! This camera will do alot. you first must use it & learn all the ways to help you achieve that special photograph.I use the 50mm f/1.8 prime lens with htis, and the quality is ungodly. If Canon makes this when it is time for a new one I will buy it over & over. remember learn to use your equipment. no need to spend thousands!

Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

Honestly this was the best purchase I have made in a while. If you are debating whether or not to get the refurbished T1i or a brand new one.... Get the refurbished one. I have had absolutely no problems with mine and with canon [...] refurbished pretty much equals brand new. They use brand new parts and the camera is amazing. the kit lens is pretty good but I have recently bought the 35mm f/2 from Adorama and the pics are super crisp with very nice bokeh. Don't be like my friends and buy a brand new T1i from [...] and pay like 80 bucks in tax on top of full price... get the refurbished T1i with the kit lens and save easily 150 bucks.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

I had a Rebel XS before this and upgraded to T1i for the video capturing feature and also the better sensor. I think I got what I expected. Its grip is more favorable than XS and it is faster. It has more features and is much eassier to use. 720P HD is practical and gives you movies of very good quality. I went for the refurbished as I had a great experience with Adorama refurbished oproducts with my previous camera.
The only thing I don't like about it is the lens. It is the normal 18-55 that does not give you good pics. When I use it with either 28-135 IS or 10-20, I can take much better pictures and you know that 28-135 is not one of the best lenses either.

What can you loss by getting a refurbished camera - nothing! Camera works great, we checked out all the features and everything works! Plus we saved a lot of money :) Because of the savings, we bought two (2) cameras, one for me and one for my wife. It is well made and the 15.2mp picture is great. I mainly work in the manual mode, whereas my wife will go between manual and auto mode for her picture taking. The lens that comes with it is a nice all around, general lens.

We have had the cameras for about two weeks and have already shoot several hundred pictures on each camera and are very pleased with the cameras.

I bought this slr at a great deal! Pictures look amazing on your lcd screen! The flash strobes sometimes when it focuses but you gotta play and experiment to get the picture right but I'm not to picky about it. I'm still learning the camera itself since I'm a beginner to slrs. If you're shooting fast moving objects make sure it's on the sports mode. Pictures in low light are ok but like I said if you play and experiment with this slr, you'll get the picture right.

Great camera at an unbeatable price. I did a bit of research and asked a lot of people before I bought the refurbished T1i, and everyone agreed that refurbished is as good as new (sometimes even better, as they go through a rigorous inspection process, unlike the new ones, which are only batch tested). And up to now I am very very pleased with the performance of this camera

The pros of the Rebel T1i are already well known. I decided to go in for a Refurb to save some cash. It was a worthwhile buy, considering the camera and lens are Factory refurbed by Canon[...] The pictures thus far have been of good quality. The kit lens has its limitations, serves well for someone like me who is new to dslr photography.

I love it, the features are great. If you know what you're doing you can get some outstanding pictures and even if you don't you can get some good ones. I liked the idea of video, but it bums me out that it is a .mov file and if I want to edit it on my Windows computer I have to convert it to another file. That's basically my only complaint.

I spent hours reading reviews, both expert and users. I bought this for my daughter who has taken an interest in photography. I started out with my mind made up that I would buy the Nikon D3000 or D5000. After reading the reviews, I opted for the Cannon T1i. Don't use the sd card in the kit. The sd card must be a class 6 or above. I found a Promaster class 6 sd 8 gig card for $32.00 after searching. The refurbished model came boxed like new. The only way to tell it is refurbished is a small removeable sticker on the camera. The 2 yr. warranty was cheap insurance. Wonderful camera.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

This is my first DSLR camera. I have 3 young children and wanted a better camera to take family photos - I was tired of missing the key moments due to slow response time and blurry shots of my point and shoot camera. I did a ton of research and had my heart set on a Nikon D5000. But I tried the Canon T1i at the Adorama store. The Canon felt much better in my hands and I was enamored with the bright and sharp LCD screen. I'm an amateur and will be using this for family vacations, weekend trips and children's school/sports events - nothing more complicated than that so I figured I'd never notice the subtle differences between the Canon and Nikon cameras at the most complex settings. Thus I went with what felt better to me - I walked in with the intention to buy a Nikon D5000 but left with a Canon T1i. I absolutely love this camera and already the dozens of amazing photos I have of my family. I also bought the refurbished model at Adorama to save some money and it's like brand new.

I own this thing and it is spectacular. For a first dslr you will not be disappointed. I really don't forsee anything that would want to make me upgrade until full-frames drop below $1000. That will not happen for a while. Don't worry that it is a refurb.[...] Most of all getting an slr is fun, I would recommend taking the plunge if you are at all curious about photography. ALSO get a 50mm prime lens--zooms are convenient but primes are what make slrs what they are.

So far I quite happy with it as a replacement for an aging Nikon D70. It does overexpose at times, but the D70 would be under at times, though not as often. You have a lot of control without having to go into menus. I wanted a smaller, lighter camera with better low light capabilities and the T1i fills the bill.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

My main camera used to be a Canon S70, but with a new baby coming, I wanted to get something better able to take good pictures in low-light situations. The Canon T1i really delivers -- friends around the world seem to agree that the baby is gorgeous. =)

Pictures at ISO 1600 come out great, and obviously are better with good lighting. The kit EF-S 18-55 IS lens seems like a fine place to start, although I've also been using an EF 50mm lens I borrowed. I know it's obvious to anyone who knows anything about DSLRs, but the pictures are *so* much better than my previous point-and-shoot, it's truly astounding.

I have not used the Live Preview mode much, but it's nice to have as an option when I hand the camera off to my wife. I have taken a few 720p movies with it, and those have come out very nice. I know the Canon T2i has even better movie modes and the ability to attach an external mic, but so far I've been very pleased with the movies I've taken. But truly, this is all about the pictures, and the pictures are gorgeous.

We have purchased two of these kits to start our own small-town semi-pro studio. We still love the organic quality of film, but digital gives priceless training & instant feedback.

We decided to get the refurbished kits with lens because of cost. The kit lens isn't super, but it has its uses (mainly macro & wide-angle) til you're ready to invest in something better. (I'd suggest the 50mm f/1.8 & 85mm f/1.8 for your first upgrades. We have both & us them almost exclusively.)

Using the Rebel bodies on a wedding this past weekend revealed that the higher ISOs are quite a bit noisier (ie grainier) than the pro-sumer Canon bodies (such as the 50D, our upgrade goal). You'll definitely need noise reduction plug-ins or to use flash.

The shutter release is also a bit noisy, and cannot be turned off, but if you are just starting out, it's a small obstacle to overcome. (I've experimented with wrapping cloth around the body to muffle the sound, and for me, it wasn't worth the hassle.)

We've purchased many refurbished Canon products over the past 6 months & have been very impressed with them all.

I was very worried about buying a high priced refurbished product, but the [$] price difference got me to bite the bullet and try. I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I received the camera! It was pretty much brand new! Everything worked perfectly. The only thing that distinguishes it as a Refurbished product is the box and one tiny removable sticker on the lens and body. Everything works great on this camera. I started taking pictures immediately! I packed it up into my bag with my lenses from my older XTI and went straight to sunny Newport Beach to take pictures at Crystal Cove. AMAZING!! The 3" screen shows the pictures in all their glory. The camera is easy to use and is fast for awesome shots of the waves. I took a few hundred pictures and the battery still showed a full charge, although no flash was necessary. This is a great camera which I highly recommend to anyone!

This is the second time that I bought a refurbished Canon DSLR from Adorama in the past 3 years. Excellent quality and excellent price-to-performance ratio. The camera, if not indicated as refurbished, I would think that it is brand new. Of course, the performance of this camera (e.g., shooting speed at continuous burst mode, but a 3.4 fps shooting speed already fill the camera memory buffer in 3 second or so) cannot be compared with those like the 50D series, but it is not reasonable to ask for more with that price tag.

Definitely the best camera out there.

Only cons are the AF during video shooting. It's noisy and takes its time. I also wish I could use the LCD during the basic modes and not just the creative ones. Oh well. Still a great camera!

I have been looking for a good DSLR and something that will be nice to my pocket... After doing some research between the Nikon D5000 and the D3000 and the Canon XSI, I ended up with this magnificent camera. When I received the camera it was like opening a brand new product and for the camera being refurb, it shows no signs of use. I took it to a profesional photographer to get his opinion and even he was impresed with the camera. [...] I have been taking pictures of my 3 year old and I have fianlly been able to freeze his quick movements for ever.[...]

I bought this refurb kit from Adorama [...] and all I can say as it was a steal. I bought it as a travel companion to my Canon 7D and now have a great pair of SLRs. The camera looks brand new and functions perfectly. Not a spec of dust or smudges on this thing. I also considered the Nikon D5000, but this has better resolution and not the "hot pixel" issue of the D5000.

The camera arrived in perfect condition...looks new. All the features that I've tried so far work great with one exception. The video focus is slow and difficult to use. I'm assuming that it is trying to auto-focus and it can't get it right. The manual doesn't recommend doing this so I assume that you can do it manually. The video it does take looks good...as good as I get with my video camera, so all in all, I'm very pleased.

I've never bought refurb. electronics before I purchased my T1i. When it came in the mail, it looks brand new. No scratches, fingerprints or anything else that would make me believe it was used. Thought about paying $300 more for the T2i, but decided the minor differences was not worth it.

Overall this is a great camera, as expected the video fps in 1080p is a bummer, but video is still amazing at 720p in my opinion, and I didn't buy this for video anyway. This camera takes amazing photographs, my only hesitation is that I bought refurb, and its only been about 2 weeks, so hopefully things stay the same.

But if it stays like this, what a deal! oh and buy a new lens when u get this. The kit lens is nice, but you must invest on a second nicer lens its a must.

For a refurbished product, I felt confident because of Canon's 90 day warranty and [...] When I opened the box, everything was there in new packaging and the camera and lens both looked brand new.I upgraded from the Canon XT and this camera handles higher ISO so much better. I accidently took pictures at 3200 ISO and they actually came out with little noise. All in all, extremely happy with this camera's functionality and you can't beat the price.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Refurbished:

I wanted to move up from my little point-and-shoot to an entry level DSLR, and as soon as I picked up the Canon T1i in a local store, I was hooked. [...] The camera has been a dream to use! The Canon is user-friendly, has fairly simple controls, and gives you so much flexibility (you can just use the pre-set functions like "action" or "portrait," or you can choose one of the custom settings so you can set your own ISO, etc.). I highly recommend reading the entire instruction manual to get the most out of this camera! The LCD is huge and very color accurate. And what really sold me on this camera was the video capability. On my 8GB memory card, I can take about thirty minutes of video. The video quality isn't professional, of course, but it's perfect for home videos. I really don't have any complaints! The refurbished camera I got from Adorama had few or no pictures, and was in perfect condition -- the body looks great, and I can't find any problems with the camera itself. This camera is pricey, but it's well worth it if you want to get great "regular" pictures with the option of taking more professional-looking shots.

Awesome camera body, with great resolution. Pair with a prime such as the 50mm f/1.8 or the 50mm f/1.4 to get low-light shots.

The kit lens (18-55mm IS) isn't the best, but for $90 more than the body alone it will get you started. If you're getting a better general purpose zoom, go for the body without the kit lens... unless you want a cheap lens that's safe for kids, friends, and family to muck with.

The video mode is nearly useless compared to my old Sony H1 superzoom... you'll have to manually focus, or film things that aren't moving out of your depth of field. The autofocus in video mode is slow, and stops once it's focused. If the subject moves, the focus will not follow. You can't choose your depth of field, ISO, or anything in video mode.

I bought a refurbished kit, the price was very good and no problems so far. Highly recommended. Excellent camera for all kind of photography, good HD video quality. The best bang for the buck.

My only complaint is the lack of manual control over image exposure on video mode, which is perfectly acceptable considering the small price.

This is a great camera. It is refurbished, but you would never be able to tell. The picture quality is amazing compared to my Rebel XS which takes great pictures itself. The video isn't the greatest, but it does the job and it isn't the camera's primary function.

[...]Went through the manual and all functions work.I do recommend adding the Mack 2 year warranty. 45 bucks for refurb peace of mind. It's in the "add accessories" part in your shopping cart, once you add the camera. As far as the camera itself, everything i expected (i read every review with scrutiny). AWB is a bit sketchy. Usually have to designate a good one. White Balance bracketing helps.P&S functionality is pretty good, but along with finicky AWB and sometimes weird metering, doesn't always provide great results. However, the configuration functionality of this almost entry-level beast is extensive, and will allow you to get the shot you want in the manual and other "somewhat manual" modes (P, Tv, Av).Video looks sweet at 720p. I manual focus on moving subjects to avoid AF noise.JPG+Raw continuous is slow. JPG continous is fast. Never really use this stuff much anyways, but probably will more now that I have this camera. (last "good" camera i had was Nikon SLR, but have been using canon P&S for past couple years)Per review on [...](check the "voted-most-popular critical" review), i went with Sandisk Extreme III SDHC (i went with Class 10, reviewer recommended Class 6 or better of the Extreme III). The reviewer stated that the Kingston cards he used mess up with video (and perhaps other functions) A LOT. So, perhaps avoid the Adorama package that includes some cheapo card. This is after 24 hours of use...may need to modify review in future, but i'd say the reviews are dead on. Camera is sweet.

The Operating Manual is the best I've read in quite a while. If I were to change anything, I would go for a 18mm to 270mm lens as opposed to the 18mm to 50mm supplied.

Perfect for anybody who is starting photography and want some HQ video without buying another camera.
As a stop-motion fan I would have prefer longer intervals for automatic shooting (minutes at least). I will have to user a computer to do so.
The lens is certainly not the best but do the job very well.
Thanks for providing a camera at such a low price.
