I loved the feature set, particularly the controls, tiltable LCD, and good viewfinder, but the image quality left a lot to be desired. Opted for the Panasonic DMC-FZ35 instead due to better IQ and the fact that it shoots RAW files, and I've been very pleased with it. The P100 is a fine camera, but I just like the FZ35 better.

I bought this camera because i had pushed my my Canon S2IS to the limits of how I could use it. It had some features I miss on this camera - the totally rotatable LCD screen and super-macro lens. I bought this for the low-light ability - and it outperforms my old canon. I've gotten a few good shots, nothing great, in the month i've had it. i love nature and wildflower photography and the season is really just beginning for that. my biggest complaint is that the software is hard to understand (but who cares?) and the HD video overwhelms my computer and the video is jerky because my computer can't hack it. Make sure you get a good video card with the camera if you plan on taking a lot of video.

I bought this camera for my 16 year old daughter for our trip to LA. She got some great photos. A few blurry one but that could have been do to hurrying the shot. One lens error but I had her turn the camera off and back on-worked fine after that. Great camera, excellent zoom quality.

Wanted a light all around camera for a trip to France, and didn't want to haul a DSLR with several lenses. Also wanted HD video. This one has 1080p. Shot over 1500 photos, most in P, program mode at 5 Meg. The camera performed beautifully. Went 400 to 500 photos between battery charges. Tilt viewing screen was great for shooting photos above crowds and tour groups, such as at the Louve. Having a viewfinder in addition to a viewing screen solved composition problems in bright sunlight. The 26X Zoom was sensational. The only negative was Image Stabilization in Movie mode seemed nonexistant.

Good product. I am not a photographer so it is bit difficult to use for me as I don't know what could be done by what options even though after reading manual. Hope high speed mode could go longer than 60 seconds.

Bought this because of the powerful zoom, and small size. I have a Nikon D5000, but didn't want to travel with it because it's so heavy. So I wanted a more powerful zoom and something easy to travel with. I really wanted to love this camera and I did when I first took pics, the zoom is great, BUT I couldn't play the video on my computer, and I need video. Nikon said I need to watch it with their software View NX 2, (because it makes .mov file type), but my computer doesn't have enough memory for it. [...]
