Just got converted from Nikon and glad it is the right decision. Apart from slower AF, this camera has everything you need in a smaller & compact body. Ergonomics & menu access is really designed for each photographer.
As the 5* rating said: Perfect. It doesn't get any better

Comments about Pentax Pentax K5 16.3 Megapixel DSLR Camera Body:
I've had the camera for two weeks now. While a nasty cold has kept me from trying everything I wanted to test the camera with I have had opportunity to test its latitude, color accuracy and freedom from digital noise. Poor light conditions (especially on cloudy days) often mean pictures with digital noise in deep blues, greens and blacks. One thing I like to do is to photograph trains, so a shutter speed of 1/500 is about as slow as I dare go. With the lens open to f4.5 and 1/500th second, using the TAV program, the camera chose an ISO equivalent of 9000. In earlier cameras even 1600 would mean annoying digital noise, in the K-5 at ISO 9000 the pictures are virtually noise free. Absolutely incredible (and I remember when Kodachrome 2 had a then astounding ASA of 25)!!! Pentax has got one great camera here.

The Pentax K-5 outshines every other camera I have ever used. The image quality is stunning even up to ISO 51200.

The only criticism would be the lack of dual media card slots. Otherwise a near perfect camera.

I create images for fine art sales and for books that I write, including a book currently in progress, highlighting my city's beauty, as well as portraits that are often used for my DVD titles that are sold on my website, as well as for my high end clients. [@]
