The pictures from this lens wide open are amazing. Be careful, make certain your focus is on the correct subject. True shooting all lens at F2 not just this one. On a full frame body and tripod glorious results.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

The lens is amazing. Color, contrast, bokeh are all top notch. Bought this from the used department and was truly in mint condition. Didn't come with a box or the little felt case which is no biggie. Had this and sold it before. Won't let it go this time.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

Bokeh is really nice. I use this with a Canon 5D Mark II for head & shoulder portraits, and for capturing my kids outside at places like playgrounds, zoos etc... good lens if you want to get 'tight' composition while staying 15-30' away. fwiw i use the 1.4x extender sometimes too

This is THE portrait lens to use with a full frame sensor camera, specifically the 5Dmk2. beautiful creamy bokah, sharp as tacks, and fast focusing bargain at half again the Adorama price!

I don't have ANYTHING bad to say about this one - not a thing.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

I have used this lens on my 5D Mark II for several months now. It's an amazing lens in terms of IQ but more often than not it sits unused in my bag.

On a full frame body, pretty much the only thing it's good for is portraits. Sure you can use it for other purposes too but there's almost always a better lens for the job. The 70-200 f/2.8 non-IS is arguably better dollar for dollar due to the extended focal range.

On a crop body, however, the 135L will be a very limited telephoto lens and I would definitely recommend the 70-200 over it.

But if you're looking for an amazing prime with excellent bokeh and DOF for portraits on a FF body, this is your lens.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

Maybe the sharpest tele Canon has ever made. Yet, oddly flattering to people. Everybody raves about the bokeh, but try it at F16; you will not believe the detail this thing can capture. Very contrasty, minimal vignetting even wide open. Did I mention it's sharp? Lug around a big white lens for a day and then put this baby on. Your back will thank you.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

I am an avid sports photographer, often shooting volleyball and basketball indoors. I have also used the lens outside for shooting up close kayak action in bright sunlight. The lens is fast, relatively light, and feels great on my Canon 40D. I really like the 70-200 2.8 IS zoom that I also own and use for sports, but after an hour or so, I now like to take a rest by replacing the zoom with the 135mm on my camera. After the zoom, the 135mm feels like holding a feather. This lens has not disappointed me.

My daughter and I used this lens attached to out Canon at recent dog show and the products were amazing. Sharp focus, brilliant bokeh, nice reach - what more could you ask for? It was highly recommended by a great friend and I took his word for it and haven’t looked back.

We are taking this along again for our next dog show event!

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

I´ve had this lens since 2000. This year I dropped it and watched it bounce down over some rocks. It still worked although I had to get the autofocus serviced. Recently it was submerged in salt water, I then placed it in a bucket of normal water to try and save it. A few days later it had dried out and the autofocus was working again. I'm getting it cleaned, but all I can say is this lens is phenominal. It´s by far and away the sharpest lens I've come across, has very fast autofocus and I'm amazed at the punishment it's put up with recently

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

A truly amazing lens. They say that it is the photographer not the equipment, but having this lens does not hurt! If the 135mm focal length is what you need, this is the lens to use. Great for portraiture, dof, beautiful bokeh, a fast/lowlight lens and all this packed into a manageable size. May be a bit long on a cropped camera but I imagine would still be a stellar performer.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens - USA:

I wanted to do outdoors portraits and needed a little more reach than the 85mm gives me, so I took a chance and bought this lens. I hit a home run with this one, it is absolutely great!!

I use it for everything. Concert, plays, flower shots, portraits, everything.

It is the sharpest lense I own, sharper than my EF 70-200mm F/2.8 and I did not think it was possible to get better than that. This lens is always in the bag wherever I go. It will be a big boost for me in the upcoming marching band season.

I cannot recommend this lens highly enough. I don't care what price is charged for this lens it is worth every penny.

I got this lens when my 1DsMkII started showing the flaws of other lenses. I also got the 1.4 extender with it giving me a super sharp 200mm f2.8. Ad the extention tubes and you have yourself a great macro lens. Yes a little expensive but it delivers
