Over all it is worth the money. Great starter lens for the bigginer wildlife photographer. Focus is hard to get in low light but on sunny days it is right on.

Great product for the price. Wouldn't know it was refurbished minus the gold sticker. Quit and accurate focus through out the focal range with no signs of blurring at any certain range. Got exactly what I wanted a lens that didn't cost a fortune and does what it was designed to do. Better lens out there but they cost way more and for my casual use with this lens 4 stars.

Right now I use this lens for sports photography, but I've taken it out for landscaping and nature photography as well. It performs as it should for a cheap lens. It's heavy but does the job. Great lens with easy mounting and removal. No problems with it whatsoever and I doubt there will be any. Great slave lens!

You can save a bundle by getting a refurbished product. It has been retested by Canon and works fine. Although the AF works fine, I mainly use it in the manual mode. I am old fashion and like to focus it myself. [...]

Works fine, so far. No stabilization and modest maximum f make it's use restricted to fairly bright light. But overall it's a good value for the cost, taking the limitations of its specs into account.

Am having a great time taking nature and wildlife pictures. I read a lot of comments on the need for tripod at anything over 200mm -- well -- I am getting some great shots with no blur and have NOT used a tripod yet and have only had this lens for a couple weeks.

It is heavy but it is a large lens with a lot of zoom.

Try this lens and I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

I bought the lens as a 'test' lens since it's refurbished and I've never bought a refurbished lens before. I'm very pleasantly surprised - looked perfect out of the box, works perfectly, I definitely would recommend!

I bought this specifically for photographing a Marine Corps boot camp graduation and I wasn't disappointed! Fast focus and very flexible when used with my Canon Rebel XTi.

I'd love to have one of the f2.8 zooms, but this cost less than 1/8th what one of those did.

I've also shot a few macro shots with it and been very happy.
