Consistently sharp, Excellent zoom range, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Best Uses:
Close-ups work well, Landscape/Scenery, Sports/Action, Weddings/Events, Wildlife Photos

Amazingly sharp at all focal lengths.
Vibration reduction is very effective- 300mm @ 1/100 sec, is sharp.
Superb sharpness at minimum focus- for close-up work.
I own the 70-200mm VR, and am considering selling it.
I love this lens....lighter, more compact, and substantially less $$$
