Comments about Pentax Pentax SMCP-DA 35mm f/2.4 AL Wide Angle Auto Focus Lens:
This lens has not left my camera since arriving from Adorama. The color and contrast are great, and everything has been sharp. This may not have the IQ of a * or a Limited, but considering the cost, this lens has great value.
The focal length is great for street shooting, informal portraits, and even some landscapes. Zoom with your feet.
My only concern is the plastic build (and plastic mount) of the lens -- I hope it can stand up for many years of use, but that remains to be seen. Crossing my fingers. Also, there is no hood or case for the lens, you must supply your own. Get a 49mm screw in hood, the snap on will not work.
