Comments about Tokina Tokina AT-X 100mm f/2.8 PRO D Macro Lens for Canon EOS Digital and Film Cameras:

I love this lens! Tokina build quality cannot be beaten at the price. This thing is a tank, and so a little on the heavy side, but worth the build quality IMO.
Very sharp. Great Macro. Not so crazy about the push-pull AF/MF switching mechanism, but it's OK.
All in all, an excellent buy. I can't think of a better lens in its class for the money.

Comments about Tokina Tokina AT-X 100mm f/2.8 PRO D Macro Lens for Canon EOS Digital and Film Cameras:

This lens is awesome and I cannot believe the clarity and sharpness of this lens the results will blow you away, it is very easy to use this lens hand held even when doing macro and still get great sharpness and clarity even without the aid of image stabilization, I love this lens and it is probably my favorite lens that I own and could not be more satisfied with it, the one draw back that some people may have (but a feature that I love) is that the focus ring has alot of travel which in my opinion makes for more of a micro adjustment in manual focus and makes it alot easier to fine tune your focus for super clear shots.

Comments about Tokina Tokina AT-X 100mm f/2.8 PRO D Macro Lens for Canon EOS Digital and Film Cameras:

Had this lens 1 day and already know going to be one of my main used lenses, goes from extreme macro to beutiful portraits and performs flawlessly switching back and forth a little slow on focus but that is due to extreme rotations to go from one end to the other, but this is fantastic for macro as gives more room for fine tuning focus fabulous in this regard, the only thing that I don't like about this lens is that you can not manually focus with the hood turned around as I sometimes do with my other lenses, but if that is all that I can find wrong then it passes with flying colors. Comments about Tokina Tokina AT-X 100mm f/2.8 PRO D Macro Lens for Canon EOS Digital and Film Cameras:

Based on the large number of positive reviews I bought the lens and now I want to add my own. The lens is well worth its price.
Very easy to handle:
- Love the switch from Auto to Manual v.v. in one single movement of the lens (no searching for buttons or letting go of the lens) and
- when in AF Macro mode being able to choose either Full or Restricted focusing
Again, a great lens which I can fully recommend.

My girlfriend bought this lens for me for Christmas in 2007 and I LOVE it. It takes unbelievably clear pictures, especially being one of the cheaper macro lenses out there for Canon. If you're a fan of macro photography, I HIGHLY suggest this lens! Nice job, Tokina!!

I use this lens for macro and portrait photography and it's a great lens. It's almost as good as the Canon 100 F2.8 macro but for[$] less. If cost is an issue, get this lens. Otherwise, spend the extra $$ for the Canon.
