Comments about Adorama Adorama 49mm Rubber Lens Hood:
This lens hood collapses easily and cuts glare to "almost nothing" on my Jupiter 9 85mm f2 lens.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 49mm Rubber Lens Hood:
This hood seems to work well with OM lenses mounted on a 4/3rds DSLR. The rubber portion is reasonably thick and seems tough enough, though it does add substantial bulk to the lens. The hood is 4" in diameter and adds 1/2" to the length on the lens when collapsed.
The hood mounts via a plastic ring that screws into the filter threads on the lens. The plastic used doesn't strike me as particularly durable, so I'm concerned that repeatedly attaching and detaching the hood may wear down the threads. Time will tell. This shouldn't be a concern if you're going to leave it on one lens all the time. And for the price you can always get more than one.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 49mm Rubber Lens Hood:
Given that it folds down nicely the hood is permanently parked on my lens. No vignetting, no complaints.

Comments about Adorama Adorama 49mm Rubber Lens Hood:
Until I purchased this rubber lens hood, I was using a metal hood which, over 40-some years of rugged use, had acquired a shape that was anything but round. It was bulky and had to be removed if I wanted to put the camera in a carrying case. This appears the ideal solution!

Comments about Adorama Adorama 49mm Rubber Lens Hood:
This hood is very well made. Has a hard plastic core that screws into the filter thread of the lens, and then has a nice conical soft rubber cone extending out from the hard plastic. Can be used with any kind of filter or lens cap. Even better, the hood folds flat because of molded in soft rubber ridges. No vignetting that i can see on my Pentax 50mm F1.4.
