Teamed with a U.V. filter, a lens hood is a must for protection and reducing likelihood of lens flair. I use Canon lens hoods on all my Canon glass and have never had any problem with fit or durability, even after the occasional (but inevitable) bangs and bumps.

Not the cheapest piece of kit for what it is, but still a must have for serious shooters. As with all Canon accessories it fits and functions perfectly.

As usual I am strongly impressed with Canon products. Been using their cameras since 1966 and printers since 1991. I use the hood most of the time with it's dedicated lens. It does the job.

Need to remove lens hood when using camera's built-in flash. Otherwise, there's a shadow at the bottom of the picture.
