This is handy to have along if you have somewhere to clip it too. However, having a small, clean, paint-brush in a sealed tube will work about as well and cost you a lot less.

I took this lens pen on a hiking/camping trip in Tibet recently. Came in very handy for wiping off dust and finger marks off my gear. It's lightweight, takes no room in your backpack, highly recommend having one in your bag all the time.

Great bit of Kit. I have had one of these Lens Pens in my photo Bag for the better part of the last 12 years. There great and handy when you need to clean your lenses or other parts of the camera in a hurry. Because they are light weight and easy to store, they make a great addition to your Camera Bag.

Seems to work but needs a cover/cap for the retractable brush for protection primarily against inadvertent contamination, especially oils/grease from fingers/nose.

The Nikon Lens Pen is a great idea. It works flawlessly and without a hitch.

It is a bit nerve-wracking to rub the cleaning end on your high priced glass for the first few times, but considering I used to use lens paper from who-knows-where before this, and Nikon is all about high quality optics, I relented and have gotten over my fears.

As noted by others, it would be nice to have a cover over the brush, but I guess I can live with that "oversight" for now since I've had no problems with the brush becoming contaminated yet. I'm secretly hoping Nikon designed the brush to be so dense when retracted that nothing can get in, but time will tell.

Overall, I'm please I bought this!

I was just trying to get a simple lens cleaning kit with a cloth and a spray and this is what Nikon kept suggesting. Now I have 4 or more of them. They do a great job on lenses that have only the usual stuff on them. Heavily soiled lenses may need a different approach.I keep one in each of my bags because of the high humidity where we live.

The product seemed safe for the cleaning of lenses and filters, and the results had been quite good. However, the Nikon pen immediately damaged large areas of coating on my new Nikon R60 filter. As one cannot be certain which Nikon glass products can be safely cleaned with the pen, I suggest caution when interpreting Nikon's blacket statement of product compatibility. In accordance with Adorama's grading scale, I rate the product as a 2 in that it needs something ... either a full assessment of compatibilities or a reformulation to ensure safe use with all Nikon glass products.

The Nikon pen is the easiest way to clean lenses and filters. My only complaint is that the brush pulls into the unit and does not have a cap to cover. It would also be nice to know how much fluid is left in the unit besides just realizing that the pen no longer works. I've tried other methods is the lens pen is the best. There are other brands of lens pens, but this is the best one that I've tried.

I have been meaning to ask the vendor, Is it normal that when I touch the edge of the cleaning head to either something absorbent and light colored or even to the edge of my finger, it leaves a greyish mark or residue? This is troubling when I am needing to use it on thousands of dollars worth of Leica glass!! Is this normal and how do you explain it??

I always take one or two of these into the field with me. Great way to clean up mist, dust and smudges without screwing around with lens cleaning fluid. They wear out after awhile, so it's good to have a spare.

The special felt tip works great and leaves no smudges. The brush works fine at removing simple debris but would be better if it had a blower. This is not the product for a thorough cleaning, but works on the go.

Great alternative to carrying a full cleaning kit around with you.
Size and shape is good for keeping it in a pocket or clipping it to your camera strap.
The cleaning end on mine doesn't seem to emit any fluid whatsoever, but I mainly use the brush end (for removing dust/particles), and I have a full kit at home for more extensive cleaning.

I always take my Lenspen with me. It removes skin oil and other smudges with ease. I've heard that you shouldn't use it for cleaning sea spray due to the salt content (the salt can scratch your lens), but it's great for just about everything else.
