Comments about Tamrac Tamrac CyberPack 6 Photo / Computer Backpack, for 15" Laptops, Black:
I've had this bag for over two years and have traveled to various parts of the world with it. It is a great overall bag for camera and laptop gear. I usually pack my Canon 20D, 24-70mm f2.8L lens, 16-35mm f2.8L lens, filters, Canon SD800 IS (or other small point and shoot camera), 7 battery packs, 2 chargers, CF card wallet, 2 card readers, cables, electronic shutter release, iPod with charger, laptop (I've carried an old Apple Power Book Pismo previously and presently carry a 15" Apple MacBook Pro), airline/travel power plug for laptop, spare laptop battery, disc case with 24 DVDs, small address book, cell phone with charger and other small misc. items.
This bag has the ability to add various pouches/pockets to the outside, from lens and accessory pockets to water bottle holder. During travel on airlines using these pockets is difficult when fitting in an overhead bin and choose not to attach the extra pockets while traveling. It also has straps for attaching a tripod across the back which also comes in handy for carrying "poster" cardboard tubes or even strapping your coat quickly to your pack if you are in a hurry. Bag fits (barely) in most overhead compartments when fully loaded - except for "shuttle" flights with smaller overhead bins. Can fit under seats but leaves no room for your feet (had to do on a few occasions on shuttle flights).
After over two years of use with a VERY heavy load of gear, the stitching where the shoulder straps attach to the body have held up surprisingly well. No separation at all yet. Aside from the padding in the shoulder straps compacting down over time and use leaving little padding for long-term comfort with a heavy load, this bag while wearing both shoulder straps on and the center clasp connected across your middle is easy to carry on your back. With only the camera and camera gear in it the bag is light enough that you don't even notice you are wearing such a big bag and makes it easy to shoot while wearing it. Loading it with the laptop and other gear makes it a bit on the heavy side even for a guy of my size (6'1", 235lbs.). The extra add-on pockets are also compatible with my holster bag which is very handy.
Also, on a note that is important to me while carrying such expensive gear: the main compartment has a zipper system that is easy to attach a travel lock (special "loops" in the metal construction of "luggage" type zippers for travel locks), but also the other zippers on this bag (the rear laptop compartment and front accessory compartment) have standard dual zipper setups that allow you to put travel locks through the zipper tabs allowing you to basically lock all compartments which is VERY important to me while traveling. Not all bags have zippers you can put locks on so this is a BIG plus for me. Would like the locking "luggage" type zippers on all three zipper sets, but you can't have everything.
