Four stars because it really is very well made for what it is, an "Expedition" camera bag. This is a well made bag but it is so big that I have not actually used it yet. Ordered it online and the dimensions sounded good when you consider what it will hold. Got it to take on trips for wildlife photography and it definitely will hold all the long telephotos and multiple cameras but it is so bulky that I figured it would be awkward to take in and out of public transportation and small planes, land rovers, small boats and canoes we would encounter in the various places go. Definetly will not fit under your seat on a small plane, and I always carry on my camera bag. Has almost too much padding... this bag is more for backpacking expeditions. For most travel I use a photo backpack about half this size. Extremely well made though.

I've been very happy with this backpack. Plenty of room. So far, I have A Nikon D70s SLR, two lenses, a metz 45ct-1 flash, some filters, light meter, manuals, batteries, memory cards and if i'm traveling, there's plenty of room to pack card readers, cables, chargers and all the little odds and ends we all carry around. Someday I hope to add a 400mm f2.8 monster to my collection and I'll have the room when I do! I'm impressed with the quality and strength of costruction. The metal zippers on this pack are beefy and strong -- no wimpy plastic here. Some zippers also have fold-down covers -- they will do well keeping the rain out if that's ever necessary. Tamrac Recommends strapping in the tripod on the outside of the main flap. This makes it a little awkward to get into if the pack is lying flat. Luckily, they have attachment points built into the sides of the pack. I might move the tripod to the sides to make it easier to get into the main compartment. All in all, well worth the price.
