Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

My husband and I are retired and doing a lot of traveling so the bag is like carrying
money,,,always with me. Easy access as I retrive different lenses at different times as well as different cameras. The yellow inside coloring is a big plus....makes finding items a breeze. Also, fits nicely under airline seats. I hope to have this bag for years as I like the quality of materials used in making this very affordable case.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

For the money, this is a great bag. It was a bit smaller than I expected in reading through all the comments, but it fits my D3, D80, 3 lenses, 2 speedlights (SB600 and SB900), etc. If you own/carry two pro DSLR's, the "trifecta" (14-24, 24-70, and 70-200), a few large flashes (SB900), some teleconverters and other odds and ends, you will want to look at something bigger. But really, for the money, you can't beat it. The build quality seems very good as well (it's made in China though, as is most everything nowadays it seems), and the shoulder harness is very comfortable. Size-wise, it's a great size to carry around. Has 2 extra buckles on the top flap that probably aren't needed and just takes extra time to open up (if you fasten them), but it's a very solid/sturdy bag.

the reviews here do not lie... this case will hold tons. I currently have A Canon 50d with a 20-70 L lens attached... still enough room to hold a 50 and a cruddy kit lens with a rebel body and a speedlight with leftover room for all the little odds and ends.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

When I first started carrying my new camera and all the accessories, it was contained in bubble wrap in a box, in a bag. Not the most efficient or transportable at all! With the Ape Case, the entire inside is adjustable to fit my needs, with so many pockets and extra storage space, it will expand with my collection. I am even storing my point-and-shoot camera (in it's own Ape Case) and all the rechargable batteries inside this new case. The Ape Case is so rugged, I have no fear of dropping and breaking my camera, and the strap is padded enough that it won't hurt my shoulder to carry. Thank you Ape Case!

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

All in all, this is a great case. I have a Canon XTi with a 24-105 mm, a 300 mm lens, mini tripod, 1.4x extender, 500D lens, Cokin filter system, and various other components, and it all fits! Beyond the main compartment, there are plenty of smaller pockets to hold odds and ends. My only complaint is that the internal pockets on the side pocket are too tight. There is no elastic so it is very difficult to get batteries or memory cards in and out of these pockets.

This bag has more pockets, slots, nooks and crannies than I've ever seen. With plenty of room for extra lenses, battery packs and even a second camera, you won't need to look any further. The bright yellow interior helps keep everything in view and helps immensely in locating small items/photo cards that may have slipped down inside. This is the best DSLR camera bag on the market today.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

This is all the camera bag you'll need. Truly. Are you surprised at this statement? You should be...the Ape Case AC Pro 1400 was priced at just under [$] when I bought it!!!At such a low price point you'll be amazed at the embarrassment of features this bag brings to the fight. Its tough on the outside and generously padded on the inside with the standard modular dividers et al. It's roomy - I can fit my Canon 5D, 35mm Canon Rebel, 28-105mm, 50mm, 85mm, 24mm, 70-200mm, three speedlites, four batteries, charger, card reader, lens filters, various cords, cleaning kit and many other items and still have room left over. I read one of the previous reviews here where the reviewer complained about the shoulder-strap. I don't know what he/she was talking about. If your shoulder cant survive the supplied shoulder-strap see your doctor...you have physical issues that need immediate attention. I personally like the strap. I think its comfortable and adequate. The zippers and hardware are built to last. I can fit my Manfrotto tri-pod easily and securely into the supplied straps on the lower front of the bag but I choose not to since my tri-pod comes with its own case already. But just in case I ever needed to... Best of all, and the reason I STEPPED DOWN $20+ dollars to buy this case (after comparing similar camera bags), the interior is YELLOW!!! I LOVE IT! Now, I have really good eyes BUT, that still doesn't mean that I can find stuff in the bottom of a black hole. Unless you have developed a set of fingertips fit for reading braille, I recommend a yellow interior in your next camera bag. Did I mention that it was priced under [$] when I bought it?!?! Honestly, I don't know why this bag was priced so low...I really don't. Get it while you can.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

The only better way to protect your equipment is to buy a hard case, and you wouldn't want to carry that around all day. This bag gives you an unlimited number of ways to carry a LOT of equipment comfortably. It is MUCH easier to work out of than my previous "big name brand" backpack.
I would prefer that the tripod straps were on the rear bottom edge rather than the front, as it tends to get snagged when moving through close quarters or busy areas (buses, subways, aircraft and their terminals). Overall, it's an outstanding bag.

If you're looking for a bag to hold everything when you go on a long hike, this bag is a little big for that. I have been shooting track and field for 12 years now and every year I get some new piece of gear. My carrying bags have not kept up with my needs. It seems like I was always missing the thing that I needed most. I ended up with multiple bags and what I wanted was....duh...in the other bag at the opposite side of the field. This bag has all of the pockets you could want to organize your stuff. And!!! Everyone says this, but it is true. The bright yellow interior means you can see your stuff! Makes it so much easier to quickly find a battery, a filter, the other lens, etc. I am now very happy! If only it came in Maroon and Gold, it would be perfect.

ADORAMA REVIEW FOR APE BAG: 04-27-09I easily take [$] to as much as [$]in camera and lenses with me when ever I go out on a project. I’ve always felt that if the equipment is worth that much, then I’d be crazy to ‘get cheap’ about its protection, right? Well, I was looking at [$]bags when I kept reading about how everybody thought this bag was so great. I told myself that I’ll just buy the darn thing to prove to myself that you can’t buy good protection for under [$]and then I’ll just use it for my mechanic tools or something. Well I’m here to tell you that everything everybody’s saying about this bag is true! Depending on a few points, you can easily fit a D2X and 4 lenses in this bag along with cleaning equipment and guide books and a Speedflash to boot. (And let’s not forget the tripod). I do all my travel on the ground and for that kind of traveling, this bag won’t disappoint you. I’m buying another one in about week. Try it, it is what they claim it to be.

Totally adjustable velcro dividers. Love the bright yellow inside, enables easy location of black camera, lenses, flash attachment, etc. So many pockets, dividers, mesh pouches, zippered storage areas; I couldn't believe it. I don't take my handbag along, I just put my personal stuff in all of the above, even my diabetic meter and supplies. I use it for my Canon Rebel Xsi, long Canon telephoto lens, large Canon Speedlite 580EXII flash attachment, and still have plenty more room to grow. Very well made bag to protect all my equipment. I can carry my Nikon with a lens, and store up to four other lenses and my SB 600 flash. There is extra room for filters, lens hoods and paper work. In every respect I'm pleased with this case.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

I have to admit, it took me along time to buy this because the price seemed too good. In 30 plus years as a working photographer I can honestly say this is the best value in a camera bag. Well built comfortable and just the right size for me. It carries 2 Olympus E-3's with battery grips attached plus 4 lenses. Normally I have the 300mm attached to the body sitting on top for easy access. Everything fits snug, something I like. Plenty of pockets outside the main compartment. The strap is curved and long enough to wear across your chest and still be comfortable. This is a big plus if you spend a good amount of time walking.

For me and what I needed a new bag for, this fits the bill - plus! Since all photographers are different in their needs and equipment it best to take a few measurements before you buy any bag.

Design, quality, and looks are all top notch. I've been using the thing in some pretty nasty weather and it hold up just fine.

Great quality bag. Yellow inside is great for seeing my black photo equipment. So many pockets, zippered pouches, see through zippered mesh interior under top of bag and good sized mesh side pockets for easy locating of personal items. Worth every cent. Looks great. Holds my Canon SLR with regular lens on camera, my good sized flash attachment, my TF lens and tons of other things. As a matter of fact, I don't take my handbag with me, I just use all the pockets to put my personal things in. Great ability to organize this bag. Great padding protection for my photo equipment. I can't believe the amount it holds and doesn't look much larger than a large handbag. Take the plunge, you won't be sorry. It's reasonably priced too.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

It's a nice case. Seems to be well made and well padded. To give an idea of the size: Mine easily holds a Nikon D700 with grip attached, a 70-300 zoom, a 28-80 zoom and a couple of primes, plus a Sony camcorder (could be a 2nd camera body for you), with room left over for filters, cleaning supplies, the camera manuals, etc. The design allows for you to store the camera with a lens attached if you like. I don't use the shoulder strap much but it's lightly padded and would probably not be real comfortable with a lot of weight inside.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

I absolutely love this case. I can easily put my gear which consists of 1 DSLR, 3 lenses, about 10 filters, 1 Speedlight, a quick AA charger, the camera's battery charger, 2 spare batteries, 2 lightspheres (stacked inside each-other== and you can stick a little prime lens inside the stack if you needed the room
.) My data cards--- and I still have enough room for at least one more pro camera with lens attached and one more lens all by itself after all that. (I can also fold up my bracket and put it in the ouside pocket) Plus, I can strap my tripod or monopod on the front.

What's great is I can modify where the little velcro pads go so it makes a custom fit.

I find that the strap is rather comfortable-- its sort of C shaped to go around your neck and not dig into it and is well padded in that area.

I also really like how the inside is bright yellow. I can see my stuff in low-light situations.

All around I think it is a great gear bag and you really can't go wrong with the price!

Good bag for storing your equipment

Cons:
Not for hiking, Too Bulky

Bottom Line:

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

I bought this bag to store my equipment: Pentax K10D, 2 compact zoom lenses, 1 compact prime, flash, flash bracket, memory cards, batteries, charger, card reader/drive. It serves this purpose very well, although I had to add velcro to more flexibly arrange the dividers. The bright yellow interior makes it easy to find things in the main storage compartment. The additional side and front pockets are nicely designed. The negative is that this bag is not good for hiking as it is awkward to carry and does not seem like it is rugged enough for hiking on a trail or to stand up to rain and snow.

Great Case and a Real Bargain

Best Uses:

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

This is a well-designed and constructed case with enough room for most equipment that you'll need to carry. It easily holds a Canon 30D w/ 17-85 IS lens, a 10-22 WA lens and the 70-300 IS Tele with all lens shades and a 430EX Flash. Plenty of room for camera and flash batteries, chargers and CF cards. The strap is strong and the case is not so large that it’s hard to handle. Padding and waterproofing is adequate and the interior dividers are flexible enough to accommodate lots of different components. It can accommodate a second camera body if necessary. The bright yellow interior is a plus. This is a quality case that is priced at one-third that of cases that are not any better designed or constructed.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

This case is very well made. Good construction, good zippers and a great shoulder strap. My only complaint is that it is a little small for a "large" case. With a Nikon D300 w/drive, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 18-200 and SB-800 things are getting tight. The large lens hoods are especially bad at taking up space. May try to re-arrange to find a better fit. Don't get me wrong this is a good case. IF you use the smaller, slower lenses there is plenty of room. For the price it is a great case.

Best case I've ever owned. Holds my new Canon 40D (with lens) plus three more lenses, Speedlite, lens hoods, filters, CF cards, batteries, charger, cables, manuals, tripod straps, and MORE! I haven't begun to fill all its compartments yet - and they're all customizable. Yellow interior is genius. You can see everything at a glance and not have to hunt or fumble for anything. I've seen bags for twice the price with a third of the features. If you've got the equipment to utilize it, get this bag. Even full, it's comfortable and well-secured.

By arranging the adjustable dividers, I'm able to accomodate my Canon xsi with a 70-300 zoom lens attached, with room to spare for another lens, a flash and a few more accessories. Being able to accomodate a long zoom while still attached to the camera was important to me and this case satisfied my needs perfectly.

Best Uses:

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

This case is perfect for the advanced enthusiast or anyone who has a fair amount of equiptment. The case boasts a roomy interior with sufficient (customizable) partitions to hold 2 DSLR's with Medium telephoto's attached, along with a flash and several lenses. There are pockets galore both inside and outside for every conceivable accessory you can imagine. One of my favorite things about this bag is that each and every interior wall (even in zippered external pouches) is padded. It's a solid, well built/designed bag and ADORAMA'S price/service is second to none.

Do yourself a favor and get it.

While I am a fan of Lowe Pro gear, I found this to be an excellent alternative for packing my camera (with lens attached) and two more lenses and a flash. Also held extra cards, batteries, filters, and misc extra stuff. The padding is more than adequate and the bright yellow insides make finding stuff a snap. The velcro inside hold very well too for customizing the inside of the bag.

Comments about Ape Case Ape Case Pro Digital Large SLR System Case:

I was initially reluctant to buy a padded case over the Internet that I had never seen before, but I opted to take a gamble on the large ApeCase after seeing the reviews. Boy, did I win with this one.

The case is not really all that large, but it does hold a lot of gear. It is well made and designed by someone who put the user first. The yellow interior is a nice feature for locating gear quickly. The stitching is competent and the padding is adequate. The non-slip feet are great when placing the case on a vehicle surface. The tripod straps are pointless, since they are too small and light for a a tripod of substance, but it is a minor point.

Overall, while it isn't a Zero-Halliburton or Pelican case, it is a great case for travel when it doesn't involve baggage handlers or where it will not be out of your sight. It has no locking ability.

I shot a wedding last week & packed 1 canon D60 body, 20D with 28-105 zoom lens, 2nd canon 20D with 28-200 zoom lens, 2 580 EX flashes, shoe cords, batteries, cf cards in cases... etc., and was still able to fit my stroboframe flip bracket all in the case. The only piece of equipment that wouldn't fit was my tripod! This case is a little bulkier than what I'm used to, but I'd rather have this slightly larger case than 2 smaller ones.

Great as a carry-on on air-lines-sometimes under seat or in overhead bin.
Occassionally I over pack it with two pro cameras, two flashes, four lenses,
plus battery charger, flash cards, readers, filters, etc. and don't forget a
couple of sandwiches on those long flights where they don't feed you.
Could use a little more padding on the back-side but other-wise this
case is great protection without the weight that most other cases have.
I like the zipper plus locking side straps plus the tripod straps on the
bottom of the case. Usually I carry two cases and have had no problems.
