Having tried and discarded a multitude of camera cases, I finally decided on the Pelican 1510. It is all as advertised -- well built; the dividers provide adequate protection; with professional cameras and gear, it is HEAVY, but what else would you expect with expensive photo equipment --and that is precisely why Pelican added the rolling wheels capability. This is the most perfect storage/transport case ever offered; I will have no other from now on.

I carry my camera gear from one location to another in this case. After having various shoulder strap bags, it's a dream to roll this case behind me. When loaded, it's heavy but I can still manage it (and I'm a petite lady at 5'2").

It doesn't hold everything so don't dream of packing everthing in it. I currently pack two Nikon D700 bodies, a 24-70 2.8 lens, a 70-200 2.8 lens, a 50 1.4, two SB900's, and have one little corner left to tuck in a white balance filter and small fold-up exposure target. It's a tight squeeze to get that all in.

I recommend the optional lid organizer.

I love knowing my gear is protected. It's a tank on wheels!

Was assigned to travel with a group to South Africa for a fast paced all out trip for 8 days to document their trip which had us stopping off at many different locations both in Johannesburg and Cap Town, we where always on the go and I had no assistant. I was responsible for shooting both stills and video, traveling with two packages was made possible only by this case, and a photo back pack. I was able to configure this case to my changing needs while on the job.

One really cool note: A 17inch Macbook in the right slim line case will fit in the top of the case if you take the foam out. Not ideal but it really helped during transport.

This is a good case for moving a large amount of camera gear around. Beats hauling gear in a backpack around an airport! I was able to take 2 pro/full sized camera bodies, 14-24, 24-70 & 70-180 lenses, 2 speedlites, 3 pocket wizards, cables, charger, backup HD, cleaning kit, and lens hoods on a recent assignment to Montana. It meets carry on regs but is a little tight getting it to fit under the seat in a Canadian Air Regional jet.

I use this for a Speedlight lighting case. It holds far more than I first thought it would:

4-5 Canon speedlights
2 Canon external battery packs
5 Pocket Wizard TT5 receivers, and 1 TT1 transmitter
2 Bogen 6.5-foot light stands
2 Bogen Justin Clamps
2 compact umbrellas
various Honl light modifiers

So I have a 5 light kit in a carry-on size rolling case. It's enough for 80% of my work, which is location portraits/journalism/news coverage. Love it.

Purchased this product based on reviews since most seem to agree this was an exceptional carrying case (within this price range). I have nothing else to compare it against but it is very well built. I wish the "pull handle" was a little sturdier since it bents a bit when walking... Other than that, very very good product which I highly recommend as well

The bag itself is terrific, and it will last a life-time. It currently holds a Nikon F100 body, a D80 with 18-70 attached, a D300 with 24-70 2.8 attached, a 70-200 2.8, a 50 1.4, an 85 1.8, and an SB600.

The dividers are the weak spot. The quality is nowhere near that of ThinkTank or LowePro. The material on the outer shell is quite loose. From what I see in pictures, the loose fit of mine is typical. Also, with very little use, the stitching on the dividers and the velcro is already starting to fray. Time will tell how well the divider set holds up.

The optional lid organizer is great. It swallowed cleaning supplies, batteries and chargers, filters, memory card pouches, etc. There is no provided foam barrier between the organizer and the equipment. A piece of 1/2 inch foam might work. I am using two 11 inch, over-lapping OpTech wraps on top of the equipment--they fit perfectly.

With all of the above, the bag weighs about 32 pounds. I haven't traveled with it by air, so I don't know what problems, if any, that will bring.

Overall, despite the divider issues, I enthusiastically endorse this bag.

This is almost the perfect case. I chose this model because it is the legal carry on size, this makes it a little small for storage but great for transportation. Otherwise it's a great case.

I use several Pelican 1510 cases when hauling gear around. I must say that it's the best case I've found yet for keeping my camera and lighting equipment safe regardless of the travel conditions. The 1510 is the smallest that can be used as a carry-on and although it's heavy (even empty), it has wheels and a slide-out handle for easy travel through a crowded airport. I've taken the case on a canoe, in the back of an open jeep, and cargo area of a small plane. It has been rained on and bumped around countless times but I know my equipment will be safe, dry and dust-free inside.

I own three of these cases,and its used to store all of my Nikon gear.I'm a press photographer and when I'm on assignment I want to make sure I have all I need and then some!

I use this case to store most of my equipement. I will see on my trip to Alaska if the airlines give me any problem. Great for my 300mm lens. Nice alternative to large backpack for day to day use at home.

Great case will get its use on my upcoming trip to Aruba. Always have had trouble bringing my gear as a carry on with my backpack, this seems to be a little smaller but holds everything i need.

The case is great. Fits lots of stuff. Feels solid and secure.
There are few areas for improvement - the depth of the case is not that useful. It is deeper then the most of the equipment, which means that you will not really use all the space. If it would have some pockets, or even pocket for a laptop, this would be a perfect case.
The bottom edges get scratched by just rolling it on the first day, but I am ok with it.

The 1514 (1510 w/dividers) has turned out to be the best case for me. Given my previous expierences with Pelicans it ended up being a lot lighter than I expected. I wish the padded dividers provided a little more "shock" protection but you would likely lose valuable space if they did. Also, space for a laptop would be a plus but then again valuable space would be lost inside. It's not going to fill the roll of your backpack or carry around lens bag but for an all around roller it's tops.
