Comments about Adorama Adorama USB 2.0 Secure Digital & Multimedia Card Reader:

It appears to be a lottery as to the actual product that you get when you order this item from Adorama. The unit that I got was labeled "ATP Pro Max."

Made of cheap, white plastic, the first obstacle was that the slider on the side that extends the USB plug didn't work properly. At first, I couldn't budge it at all. After applying more force, the plug extended, but the slider remained extremely stiff and resistant.

The second problem was inserting a card. There was a lot of play, and the card didn't want to align properly with the socket. After a few tries, it went in. When plugged into the USB port, the computer recognized the card, and read files from it just fine.

However, after using it, I went to remove the card from the reader, and it just would not come out. There was no spring action, and no way to grip the card to pull it out. It was well and truly stuck.

I ended up having to pry the casing apart with a screwdriver to remove the card. This card reader isn't just bad, I feel it is actually a threat to the safety of your valuable memory cards. I am worried that this could physically damage cards.

I didn't expect high standards from this card, I bought it as something cheap that I could essentially give away to people when they needed to read cards. But I also didn't expect something so disposable that it breaks after a single use. I wouldn't even give this away to someone.

This item is a good value. - I plan to re-order more: as needed! (In my intial order I even ordered extras for my wife and kids. - They, too, like and use this Adorama nifty accessory. - It's a lot easier than powering up and hooking up your camera to your computer: for fast image viewing/transfer use.) This item is well made and very compact/durable too!

Comments about Adorama Adorama USB 2.0 Secure Digital & Multimedia Card Reader:

Good and fast product, you wont get the card you see on the site. If you looking for something to transfer picture just get it. Don't bother with those that cause $20 it does the same job. If you looking for something to store your file i don't recommend it just get a regular USB key to carry around. The only bad thing is that you won't get the reader you see on the site, you will get a white USB reader, it's very light but it look kinda cheap but it work. It's seem to me if you drop it, it might snap. The company that made it is Vid pro. So far so good.

You will receive a cheap plastic one

Comments about Adorama Adorama USB 2.0 Secure Digital & Multimedia Card Reader:

What you'll get has this cheap plastic finish and is far from what you see in the picture. [...] It's fed from sides, not the end, and I'm sure this would cause problems on many computers since it would take more width after card is inserted.

Comments about Adorama Adorama USB 2.0 Secure Digital & Multimedia Card Reader:

When I bought this item, I expected it to be the blue plastic one shown in the picture. Little did I know that I would be receiving a metal one, with a brushed metal finish. It seems to be very sturdy, and I have found it to be extremely easy to use.

It can be used by itself, or with the included USB cord, to insert into the USB port. There is more flexibility of use with this configuration.

I am very pleased with my purchase.

Though it would be another cheap plastic piece of junk- I was sort of right- it is cheap, e.g., (inexpensive) and it is made of plastic- but really does work, right out of the box, as advertised. Can't say enough good things about its performance.
