I use this card in a variety of settings, from very large copy work to action shots outside. I have never exceeded the speed coefficient of the card & think that the only way I would be able to is if I was shooting Sports in RAW format in long bursts. For most non-professional photographers who shoot in a jpeg format it works great.

The Extreme III was purchased for our Canon EOS Rebel XSi to replace another SanDisk 2 GB Disk. The first thing I noticed was how fast it wrote the picture to the card. Later in continious use it prefored like a champ and really outpreformend the old card.

I would recommend this for anyone taking nature or sports action photos anyday.

I used the card on a recent vacation. It stored all my photographs promptly and correctly. I did have trouble with the RescuePro software that came with the card, so I had to use another product to recover a photograph that I accidentally deleted.

Amazing how they just keep getting faster. I purchased this card on sale recently, and although there are faster ones out there, I'm quite happy with the speed of the Extreme III. I haven't encountered any noticeable delays using my Xsi in burst mode, and transfer rate to my pc is adequate.

Having a backup Memory card serves two purposes. It gives you the assurance that you will not run out of pictures to take. It also gives you the assurance that if you forgot your primary memory card while downloading your pictures, that you have another of equal quality to take pictures. I know, I have done this, that's why I bought this one.

I take a lot of pictures. My new D90 files are even bigger than with my old camera, so the 4GB is very convinient. I can shoot over 550 pictures at the highest quality without having to switch out. This is fantastic at sporting events and on long vations. I can tell a slight difference in speed when the I shoot in bursts as compared to the Extreme II. However, I can really see how much faster it performs when I'm downloading to my computer. I bought two so I could have a backup or I'm on a very long trip where I can't download & reformat the card.

I had great experience in the past with SanDisk 8 GB, Extreme IIII SDHC and I needed more. The SanDisk 4 GB, Extreme III was also perfect for the Canon Xsi camera. It did not hurt that Sandisk had a great rebate when buying 3. It was also a surprise when I received the memory cards and each one came with a reader.

I have three of these (due to the recent deal) and hot-swap them out of a few different digital cameras all of the time. With smaller, less than 5 megapixel cameras, the speed isn't an issue. When you get above 8 megapixel, though, the speed issue starts coming into play. And these are all cameras that work with SDHC (according to their spec sheets). I'd look for a better format for particularly large RAW-type photography, but otherwise, it seems well enough.

I already had one of these and saw that with the sale and rebate I could get this essentially for free. I bought three, one more for me and two for my wife to go with her P&S. I have never had a problem with this card, it is faster than my camera's write speed, and is screamingly fast with the supplied card reader. I really like this memory card, but make sure you check to make sure it works in your camera. I have a Canon point and shoot that it works for, but my Panasonic Lumix camera does not accept it. I expect when I upgrade soon to the Nikon D90 that it will work with it.

Bought several of these during a SanDisk promotion for use in a Nikon dSLR. They work extremely well, quick saves and retrieves, no compatibility issues. I only fill them up once then save them for archival purposes, so I can't speak to any issues about erasing/overwriting. As prices come down, I'll migrate to larger gig sizes, but these are my sweet spot right now.

I bought a point and shoot digicam for a trip to Europe and included 2 Sandisk 4GB, Extreme III SD memory cards. Over the 2 weeks, I took more than 1100 hi-res jpg photos all on one card. Each one is clear and sharp, just the way the camera took it.

These particular cards came with a small fabric case to contain them. This small bag helped to keep the second card at the ready, easily accessible.

I've used Sandisk memory cards for years, mostly the CompactFlash variety. This was my first foray into SD cards. Sandisk is definitely my card of choice.

This is a great card. Despite this fact, it is still an SD card--an SD card that comes with a reader that can warp, if treated carelessly.

The card in of itself is fine. It is not particularly weak, but is, by definition, an SD card. This is not a card of professional caliber durability like a Compact Flash (CF) card.

I bought one before, and carried the card reader on a keychain everywhere. This was a mistake, because the included card reader freebie is not meant to take the abuse of being flung around and sitting in one's pocket all day long.

The card reader eventually warped after being on my keychain for half of a year. I take responsibility for ignorance. However, I was very disappointed this happened, because the warped card reader stripped my card of one of its pins while trying to get the card out of it. I did not trust the card after that, and had to buy a new one.

Here are a few words to the wise, as I have learned my lesson: do not carry the reader everywhere unprotected, and other than that, its a great card. I would recommend keeping the card itself in the included "hard" case as it will keep it from snapping after being carried around all day long in one's gear bag.

This is a great product with an excellent price, plus there was a rebate. The only con is that this new card is not compatible with most computers or card readers. It does, however come with its own USB interface that allows you to connect to your computer, which is a great feature, although it does take away somewhat from its portability.

No problems at all in the camera, but the first time I tried reading it in an SD slot on the computer, I couldn't get it to work. I finally realized that the SDHD interface is different and that I needed to use the adapter that came with the card. No big problem, but off-putting at first.

Needed reliable SD cards for slot 2 on my 1DmkIII. Have had excellent luck with SanDisk CF cards (lost track of how many I own) so tried the SD version. Fast enough for 10 fps raw, and no reliability problems.

Buyer beware! This card has some serious side effects as I'll explain...

At such a great price for such a large amount of storage, you'll find yourself buying these cards in quantities of 2 and 3 at a time. Then suddenly you'll find yourself shooting enormous amounts of pictures and video, way more photos and home video than any family and/or significant other should have to subject themselves to. All this data, downloading to your computer reliably and at such high speeds, forces you to upgrade your computer's hard drive capacity 3-4 times a year. Next thing you know, you're online late into the wee hours looking into multi-terabyte, hotswappable, RAID solutions with offsite storage plans to secure all that data.

WHEW!!! These cards are amazing!!!

But seriously, you cant go wrong buying Sandisk: large capacity, reliable, and high speed. I use them in my Nikon D80, D40x, and Coolpix S51(s). They allow me to focus on shooting while resting assured my images and video are stored quickly and safely.

This was a great value after the rebate. Preforms excellent in the camera. There are limitations with its multi tasking. Many photo stations do not accept this (HC) high-capacity memory card.

I use this in my Nikon D80 shooting large and fine. I can usually get about 500 shots in a single session without having to download and with the speed to boot. Definately recommended.

This is the only card that I have used in my Pentax K200D, and I have had no problems at all to this point.

The best thing about this card is the download times. I am constantly amazed at how fast it downloads. 50+ 4-6MB files in seconds. If I am doing less than 20 or so I don't even get the progress bar, they are just simply there. (I have been using the USB card reader that came with the card, I don't know if it makes a difference but it may!)

I just purchased several SDHC Extreme III cards and I'm very impressed with the performance and packaging of the reader and case. The price will be nice too when my rebate arrives. The one thing that would make them superb instead of just excellent, is a white space on them to write a letter or number or 2 in order to easily differentiate between them. I take them in and out of the same or several devices and then try to figure out which one goes where, or what's on them. I bought a few smaller sized ones so that I don't put my pictures all in one basket, as the saying goes. Even at 4GB, they still hold more than 20 rolls of 35mm film worth of pictures.

I have always been skeptical of "high performance" memory cards, especially SanDisk (don't waste your money on the Ultra 2.0) but the Extreme III made me a believer. I tested this card against other "Class 6" and it left them in the dust. Yes, it is very fast, especially where it counts...when writing to the card. If your device can use this type of speed (i.e., DSLR) or you want the assurance the data is good, then this card is worth the premium.Also, this comes with the MicroMate reader, carry pouch and Rescue Pro SW. The SW is truly useful and came in handy for some vacation pics that become corrupted on another memory card (A-Data not SanDisk). All-in-all, a nice package. [...]

Fast, reliable, and a great deal. Couldn't ask for more.[...] I bought two. Am glad that I did, because I nearly filled 1 card during our recent trip to Old San Juan, P.R., and swapped to the spare when it was convenient to me. Came back with 1253 files between the two cards. Also shot Super Cross before the vacation and the speed was an advantage, letting my camera (Powershot S5) operate at full speed.

This card is rated at 133X. Other manufacturers make 150X cards, but I have confidence in Sandisk, based on experience. The Extreme III is about three times faster than the Ultra II in storing large images in my camera, and unloads to the computer very quickly. Ignore reviewers who downgrade SDHC cards because they won't work in their older cameras or computers. Just make sure your camera is SDHC compatible to at least 4GB. The included reader will make it work in your computer.

I sell many things over the internet and it is such a hassle to go back and delete pictures as soon as I transfer them to my computer or upload them. With the 4gb Secure Digital Memory Card by Sandisk, I can keep tons of pictures on it and still have room to take new ones. I am currently using a 7.1MP Casio Exilim to take pictures of the items that I am selling, and even at the 7.1MP size with Fine Quality (the best) I can store over 900 pictures. It is a big step up from the 16MB card that came with my old camera and the 1GB that I only recently upgraded to.

The only downside is that when I inserted the card directly into the reader slot of my laptop, it did not recognize it like my previous cards. I have to use the reader that was included, plug that into the USB port, and insert my card in that. Small price to pay to access a ton of photos though.

Fast, high capacity storage cards are required for taking good movies with digital cameras, many of which now allow movie clips limited only by storage available on the card. Speed is necessary for movies, as well as multiple sequential exposures. This card fits these requirements, and performs well.

It's a very fast SD. The bundled SDHC reader helps because none of my SD readers are compatible with SDHC.

Since 4GB SD exist, it would have been nice if Sandisk makes a 4GB SD that is compatible with older SD devices.

This card is really fast. Rated class 6 but manufacturer claims it is even faster. Small SDHC reader included is very convenient. Can't beat the value of the after rebate price.

Other cards I've seen that are close to this price are usually Class 2, so watch what you're buying.

Only regret is that I should have purchased more of these. The rebate is even better if you buy more than one. Unfortunately you cannot apply twice from the same household.

I have been using the SanDisk 4 GB Extreme SDHC on my Canon S5 IS and it works extremely fast. The length of picture clips taken is now only limited by the Camera's capacity and not by the write speed of the card. Earlier, the capture used to stop every half a minute or so while the camera got busy moving the clip from its internal memory to the Card, now no such lag. Transferring pictures and movie clips to the computer was also extremely fast! The reader looks great and works great - would be useful if I buy more SDHC cards. Plan to use the Card and Reader together for moving large data between computers since they do the work much quicker than regular jump/thumb drives.

It came with a small zippered pouch with inside pockets; good for storing the reader and a couple of cards. Although, would suggest do not put the card directly in the pouch and do not leave it in the reader.

All i can say is fast FAST and FAAAAST!! Satisfied customer.

The card is undoubtedly fast and reliable. It comes with the tiny clear case as most SD cards do, but also comes with a neoprene holder that holds the card and the included SD to USB converter. This is a really nice package. My only complaint is the card is designed to run FAT or FAT32 file structure, which is inherently limited to 2GB capacity. New equipment like my nuvi 760 handle the 4GB card without a thought, but my older Konica Minolta Z5 wouldn't read the card because it is just too big. This is a problem with all high capacity cards I'm sure.

Got this card for my Pentax *ist DL. Couldn't really tell the difference in taking continuous shots because camera is not really fast itself, but it does let me take more shots in a row before slowing comparing to the regular 2Gb SD. Transfer rate over card reader to the computer is also very good.

The write/read speed is very fast and it improves the quality of my photos when my auto flash is off on my canon sd750. I take much quicker photos for those moments you cannot miss. So far its reliable and I haven't faced any data corruption as other generic brands often have.

Grab these while you can! [...] HELLO! AND IT COMES WITH DELETED FILE RECOVERY SOFTWARE, AN SD/SDHC CARD READER, A CUTE LIL' CARRYING POUCH, and LIFETIME WARRANTY on the card! INSANE!I was skeptical of the speed... SO - the first thing I did was test it out using free speed testing software [...] Ran the quick test several times on both cards... The speed was always 19.8MB/second. That was the quick test... was CLOSE ENUFF to the advertised min 20mb/sec for me! So, I didn't bother running the full/long test. I used this same test on some competing brand's SD memory, memory that was rated as FASTER than the SanDIsk Extreme III SD(competing SD card was rated as 150x 22mb/sec) Guess what - the competition tested at less than 5mb/sec! The competing Manufacturer is replacing - said this was totally unacceptable... So we'll see if the new card is better. None the less, the SanDisk worked great right out of the box! 4GB of the SanDisk at a low price [...] is INSANE- dont think.. just buy! I am using in my new Canon S5 IS digital camera. And loving it!
