Comments about Epson Epson Perfection V300 Photo, 8.5" x 11.7" Flatbed Scanner, 4800 x 9600 dpi, 48 bit, USB 2.0 for Mac & Windows:

Washed-out photo print scans. It also had a very popular EPSON problem where it would randomly stop scanning in the middle of a scan and require me to unplug and replug the power to the scanner to clear. I searched the issue because I had the same problem with an older EPSON flatbed scanner (EPSON Perfection 2480, great crisp clear scanner by the way) and found that there are thousands apon thousands of posts where others have been blogging everywhere... and with about every model Epson of the same issue. I have concluded its a driver issue(and yes I tried all available drivers), it seems that they are trying to maximize their throughput and it causes the scanner to hang during data transfer. Ive returned the scanner and I'm going for a Canon!

After almost 40 plus years,I decided to transfer/scan 900 plus slides and negatives into jpegs. I was quoted about .55 to .85 per slide by a pro shop. This EPSON v300 PHOTO SCANNER was a perfect choice, very simple to operate and much cheaper ..lol . Enjoyed memory lane of my youth
