This devise seems to be,at least, "accurate enough". A good first step in leveling tripod before leveling the head. It has produced good results for me.

I have used this level with my tripods (a Bogen 3221 and a couple others) secured to the center pole.
This level works well with its wide mounting bracket and a strong rubber strap as its fastener. The smallest diameter it can accommodate is about 7/8", to use it with anything smaller than that you can easily replace the rubber strap with something else, such as a fat rubber band.
This level is a must-have for those who in need of a level for their tripods that don't have a built-in level.
