I take mostly vertical portrait type photos. The photo world revolves around landscape-oriented photographers. Since camera manufacturers are too stupid to make a camera that takes vertical photos without turning it on it's side, I had to come up with my own solution. I wanted a bracket to keep the flash above the lens without having to flip it and have my big top-heavy flash hanging sideways. This flash bracket with my small camera mounted vertically on an L-bracket works perfectly. Most other brackets won't align the flash properly in this position. It also works well mounting the camera horizontally and flipping it for vertical shots if that's the way you want to do it. (That's what it was specifically designed for)
The bracket is much higher quality than I expected for this price. It's not only very sturdy, it's the nicest looking flash bracket I've ever seen.

Great for moving SB-600 flash unit off the camera which eleminates most red eye, especially when photographing children - bright blue eyed children. Also great for changing angle of flash to enhance detail.

Bracket allows me to add a slave flash to my camera and provide a good grip. I also like to feature of adjusting the flash for a vertical shot quickly.
