Smooths out the light. Works best for me with Auto ISO off and set to 400.

I use the Pocket Bounce on my SunPak Flash attached to my Nikon D50. My first use was photographing a wedding. I was quite surprised when I did not have to tweak the light levels but very little on 200 shots. I was prepared to purchase a Nikon SB600 Flash. Don't need it now!

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Pocket Bouncer:
Not sure I like it that much. Do not notice much difference in my photos. Still casts a hard flash on the subject. Not much diffusion. I would recommend one of the other models. The construction and set-up are great and easy.

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Pocket Bouncer:
This use of the LumiQuest ProMax Pocket Bouncer with the nikon SB-800 flash produces much softer lighting and nice portaits. It does reduce exposure by about two stops so some compensation may be needed. This product fills a need and I recommend it to any photographer who photos people. Can also be used for good results on flowers, etc.

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Pocket Bouncer:
I haven't had this item to long. I have tried it out however and it works as advertized. It may look a little strang but it provides consistent soft lighting, when you are unable to bounce off the ceiling. It works best fairly close (say within 15 ft) since the light falls off quickly. It can be a nice item to have with you though.

Comments about LumiQuest LumiQuest ProMax Pocket Bouncer:
To be honest, I still couldn't figure out how to use it properly. Firstly, it brings a lot of attention and sometimes laughters when I attach it, but that may be helpful occasionally. Secondly, it causes the light to fade very quickly in the distance, so I had some very bad results so far. I still try to get the people under a roof so I can bounce the light from above. I may have to try more to see if I can improve it.

I have been using it systematically for most of my flash photos for over 15 years...
It is just a MUST for nice and soft flash photos.
The only drawback is that you loose about 2 stops exposure.
You can position it on your flash to send some of the light to the ceiling and so have two sources of bounced light.
