Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
I have a Nikon D90 and this worked great for my SB-600 flash. I am very glad I went with the authentic Nikon product as opposed to cheaper options after reading other reviews. Nikon never lets you down.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
This Nikon product is expensive for what it is, but worth it. It attaches securely from camera to flash hot shoes. I got it because it is the 9' cord for placing the flash at various places far away from the camera in the portrait studio, but it is too strong for long extension. Sure, it will stretch to 9' so long as the flash is securely attached to a bulldozer. So I am experimenting with attaching weights to the flash's light stand to get beyond 4' to 5'.

I use this cord with a D3000 and an SB-600 speedlight. An important step in taking great flash photography is to get the flash off the camera and this cord gets the job done.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
I purchased this item as a kit with a Nikon SB 900 and a flash bracket. Just one problem. There is no way to attach the SC 28 on the bracket without an adapter and that's why I am giving it 4 stars. The flash end of the cord has a hot shoe connection on one side and a tripod screw mount on the other. You will need to purchase an adaptor and Adorama sells them for about $7. Monfrotto Flash Adaptor SKU BG3298. It should be included in the kit, but in any case... don't forget to purchase it if you intend to use this cord with a flash on a bracket. I've yet to actually go out in the field and use this setup, but I'm pleased with the look and feel of the bracket and it fits nicely with my Nikon D90 and batterly grip (purchased seperately).

I needed some way to remote mount the flash unit for a 35mm slide copying project I was doing. This works like a charm. I highly recommend it.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
Not much to say about this product other than it works exceedingly well. I have no doubt it will last a long time. The installations of the cord and the remote flash are easy slip fits but the locking pins make them perfectly secure.
Realistically you will only have an extension of about 2 feet before the cord starts to tug excessively.
I think Nikon dropped the ball slightly though, in terms of their overall flash system cross-compatibility. This product contains a couple of 3-pin sockets that can connect to the older style of TTL flash from the film camera days. You might think that one of the new model CLS flashes (SB-600 for example) that sit in the cord's shoe could serve as a master to control an SB-16 or SB-17. But they don't. The flash that connects to the 3-pin socket only gets triggered for a manual mode exposure, it's not shutoff-controlled in a TTL fashion. So those 3-pin sockets only provide their intended function with a film body.
I don't own a 2nd CLS system flash so I don't know if a wired multi-flash system can work in true i-TTL mode. I think that if you're doing multi-flash then you just jump onto the CLS wireless concept with both feet.
But for a single off-camera flash this cord is much simpler to set up than CLS is. There are no mode changes required in either the camera or the flash. It's just like the flash is connected dfirectly to the camera.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
I just bought the custom bracket for my Nikon Camera and needed the sync cord for the flash. I considered other aftermarket cords but they appears to be flimsy. This cord is well built and appears to be very solid. The sync head looks well constructed and it is adequately strain proofed. Yeah ! it is very expensive compared to the other aftermarket but I need to have a peace of mind when I am at the wedding/party that the cord will not fail.

My old cord lasted 4 yrs of everyday use....but cord cover/wires came off at attachments to each camera and flash attachments.
Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
My primary use is to elevate my flash on a bracket for flash and fill flash that minimizes the shadow behind heads-- it lowers the shadow so it doesn't show in head shots.
Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
I use it with my D90 and/or my F100. I particularly like the new lever clamp in place of the older turn tightener on the SC 17. I generally use it with a small stroboframe bracket and have taken the standard shoe from that and replaced it with the one on the SC28. They make a perfect combination.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
I purchase about two SB-28 units per year. They are extremely reliable until first failure, and then become sporatic and unrealiable. Plastic housing for female ISO is weak-link. I shoot 40-50 events per year. Plastic housing splits after 20 or so events(2000-2500)shots. I always carry a spare and now consider this limited life in my pricing.

NICE PIECE
Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
Excellent product but lacks groove in female hotshoe connector to slide into hotshoe clamp of Stroboframe flash mount. However the female connector has tap for 1/4 screw to screw directly to the Stroboframe. Canon cords offer the groove, just wonder why Nikon doesn't?

I got this cord for my Nikon P5100 pointNshoot camera, but I find myself using it more and more with my SLRs when I don't want to go through the bother of wireless setups and only need one strobe. It works TTL with all my cameras and I am quite happy with it.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
I upgraded to Nikon digital cameras and use SB-800 and SB-600 flash units off camera. I found that all contacts must connect or exposure does come out right. The SC-28 has a locking pin that the old SC-17 dose not have. I replaced all my older cords.

I would recommend it to a friend because you really need off camera TTL capabilities, but I'm on my 2nd cord in three years and need to order yet another one due to the cord's electrical short problems. Not a good sitution to be in when on a job and your equipment fails.
Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
Just what I needed to use the flash off the camera on a handle to avoid red-eye. Works prefectly.

Comments about Nikon Nikon SC-28 Dedicated 3' TTL Coiled Sync Cord with Male & Female ISO Shoes, from Camera to Flash.:
It's built well, it stretches quite a ways, it does what it's supposed to. The only thing it needs is a metal foot on the flash end to go with the screw mount. This would allow for a little more flexibility in attaching the flash end to flash brackets or other supports.

I really like the new locking mechanism. Having the cord from the camera shoe sidways is also a good thing. The only thing about the new camera shoe mount is the connections are more difficult to re-solder if you elect to shorten your own cord. I
