Comments about Savage Savage Two Section Chrome Boom Arm, 47.6" to 83" Length, 1/4" & 3/8" Mounting Studs, with Weight Bag:
I have used this for 2+ years and it works great. The adapter is weak and i would advise picking up the heavy duty manfrotto boom adapter off of BHP. I would also suggest picking up the manfrotto 10lb boom arm counterweight off of BHP as this arm does not come with a weight just the bag to put a weight in. Kind of misleading if you don't read closely. This arm will hold an Alien Bee 1600 with a combination of a beauty dish, PLM, umbrella, and softbox. If you are low on cash and need an arm this is perfect. if you have some more money to spend then I would suggest looking around for something a little higher quality. You get what you pay for and while this is perfect for the price, it can leave a little to be desired for.
Back left with an AB1600 and AB 22" BD on 13'stand

With the advent of 'speedlight' versatility, this boom stand will place your flash virtually anywhere you may need it. It will hold your portable light and appropriate sized modifiers with no problem. It's lightweight and portable, an ease to use on location.

This is a very nice product and can extend to a good length. It can handle a decent amount of weight, because of the 11lb sandbag that's included. It's lightweight, and very convenient to carry around and just throw on top of one of your other lightstands when you need a boom.
My only complaint is that the clamp is not strong enough. Mine is already twisted up a bit from a couple of times usage. I'm wondering if I can find a stronger metal one that will fit.
Other than that, this is a great product. The arm itself is very nice, inexpensive, and has a long range.
