I have 3 Canon DSLR cameras. I always try to have a camera with me especially when travelling. I bought the Sigma flash so I could also take along a flash with my camera, and don't want to take my more expensive Canon 580 ex II.
It is perfect for a back-up flash.

Been using this flash primarily off camera with a wireless remote. Gives me the portability and versatility I need without having to cart around a lot of lights.

This is a great flash for the price. Covers the frame evenly at the advertised range. If you need a TTL flash - this one should definitely be considered. TTL flashes are best used in Auto mode, if you need versatility I wound recommend a non-dedicated flash for use. They are much easier to work with in Manual mode. This flash lacks an LCD screen - which is a PLUS because it conserves battery power since it doesnt have to power one. There is a model with a screen though if you need it.
Bounced Flash in Program mode.

This is a very good flash. It works great with my Canon XTI camera. It is easy to use and is cheaper than the canon brands. I would buy this flash again.

Good, simple, robust flash. I use it for fill light with portraits, indoor/outdoor night and low-light shots and candids. If you are looking for a simple no-nonsense flash, this is it. It is this simplicity that appeals to me. Others may find this limiting and desire more detailed control. If so, the 530 Super may be a better choice. This flash fires well and has a fast recharge time. Works well with my Canon 5D.
