Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
This just works. No more washed out colors due to overpowering flash.
Easy to use, not flimsy.
Do have to get used to how soft it makes the light, in darker settings it can sometimes be too much.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
Fits perfectly on my small SB-400 flash, does a nice job at flash fill and softens the usual over flash effects. However it's a bit pricey for a piece of plastic.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
The Sto-Fen gives you many of the same effects and advantages of bouncing your flash from a wall, ceiling or a taped-on card reflector. But, the Sto-Fen is much more convenient, and the results are more predictable and repeatable.
Excellent product, even though a little over-priced.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
I bought this diffuser in hopes that it would solve a problem I was having photographing my Asian wife and Asian friends. I needed something to reduce reflections from their fair skin tones and this Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for my Nikon SB-400 Flash is just what I needed. Now I can take pleasing portraits without the unappealing reflections I was getting from the flash alone.

It's a simple diffuser, extremely easy to clip on and off. Softens the flash really nicely, no flash glares anymore. A must buy for anyone who uses the SB-400 flash.

It did now work as I expected. You could barely see the difference with or without it on the flash.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
I took this to an event, and it worked great but I didn't see it fall off in a room of 500 people -- needless to say it was lost within minutes. There are no clips or straps or hooks to hold it in place so this is not a good product. Photographically it works well, but its not designed to stay on your light -- don't bother.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
The SB-400 is a great little complact flash by itself. I love the light quality when it is bounced off the ceilling. I needed a diffuser when shooting indoors where ceilling bounce was not an option. I found that this diffuser did not work well when used with direct flash. I did a couple test shots using direct flash with and without the diffuser. The difference was minimal. Although it worked better when the flash was tilted at 45 degrees with the diffuser. I'd much rather use ceilling bounce without the diffuser but if that's not an option this diffuser does make a difference. I've gotten better results using a home made bounce card out of paper. So in the end it comes down to price. You can probably live without this product but with the price, it won't hurt your wallet to keep one in your bag.

I love the fact I can use the tilt feature with this unit. Bounce with this is wonderful. For the money it is a great tool for fun and serious photos.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
I got it to diffuse the rather harsh light from my SB400 flash, but it does not do the job as I would like. I ended up using the flash without the Sto-Fen, instead bouncing the light off a reflector. Skip this item, and instead get some other type of diffusion gear or reflect the light off something. It's odd, because I love the way my other Sto-Fen diffusers work with my SB800 and Promax flash units.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
[...] In general, the SB-400's bounce is a more pleasing way to diffuse flash than this product can accomplish. But if you require direct flash, as I do to document technical situations, the Sto-Fen can be a great help, particularly if one uses it in accordance with the supplied instructions.

Comments about Sto-Fen Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for the Nikon SB-400 Flash:
Overall I'm glad I have it. I'm still experimenting with it. Light is a little too harsh in some settings. Will throw a shadow if you are not careful. Seems a bit overpriced. Though [$] is not much for anything related to photography, it is just a piece of molded white translucent plastic.
