Great little item that converts your light stand or tripod to a hot shoe mount.

Don't waste your money on this. First of all, it's NOT a Stroboframe product, it's a Flashpoint product which is probably why it's so cheap. But the cheap price turns into a total loss because the design makes it unusable. The thumbscrew thread is too short so the clamp won't open far enough to fit either of my Vivitar or Sunpak flashes without popping off. At that point the non-captive springs pop out and get lost. How could Flashpoint design this and not have it fit a Vivitar 285, one of the most common flashes out there?
It seems that some customers have gotten the real Stoboframe product here in the past, but this is NOT it.

The bracket that I received looks different from the display picture.

Does the job well! Designed to not have metal contact with hot shoe, but that it doesn't misfire. Great price, great build, and absolutely reliable and a must for any strobist!

This is an excellent flash bracket to add a shoe mount flash to an umbrella bracket for off camera lighting.

This little item is one I need almost everywhere I employ external flash units. It isn't as well designed as it could be--no plastic please. And I feel exploited by the price. There should be many more and better options. I'm sure eventually Really-Right-Stuff or someone else will get into making better flash supports, etc.

Comments about Stroboframe Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount:
This is not built as solid as the older Stroboframe camera/flash mounts and the small springs in the shoe seem to have no purpose at least to me.What is missing is a rear stop pin for the flash to be held more securely in the shoe as if slightly loose it will slide right thru when you put the flash unit on it.I made my own pin for that and driled it and installed it but should be included when made.[...]

the finish and the workmanship is much worse than I expect(I own lots of machined gear parts like RRS's)but so far it just works.

Comments about Stroboframe Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount:
I am using this to mount my Nikon SB 800 to a light stand via a Bogen clamp. While the construction is solid the shoe mount needs some sort of stop to prevent slippage of the flash once mounted. The knob is a little small for tightening but otherwise it seems to work well. I've only tested it once but so far, no problems. Best of all, it is built in the Good Ole USA!

I use three of these, have for several years, and am going to buy more of them. I think it's the best shoe mount I've seen and they have never failed me. I use them on my umbrella swivels, they replace the ones that come supplied and are worth the extra cost.

Comments about Stroboframe Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount:
Very dissapointed. I ordered two of these to use as a mount atop my Superclamp/miniballhead and also a lightstand/umbrella adapter.
It is solid, but the little red dot is too small, slippery, round to tighten it any good.
And when it is tightened, it still can slip because 2 metal smooth surfaces will equal slippage with just the right vibration.
I'd rather use my Speedlight stand as a mount beacause it is able to lock, and is much quicker to use(no need to twist a puny knob to tighten; just slide into place, and flip the switch to lock)
