I use the battery for concerts, graduations, weddings, etc. It's nice because I don't have to change batteries before the event is over & end up missing something, as it's long lasting.

I use this for my new Sony HDR-FX7 & it doesn't make the camera that much heavier. I needed it for concert performances & weddings that I video, for my part-time business so it REALLY comes in handy. The only major draw-back, as I commented above, is the length of time it takes to charge. The smaller battery takes a long time, too, though.
