Ruth Medjber
Photographer Ruth Medjber* was born in Marino, Dublin to Irish/Algerian parents. She graduated from D.I.T. with a BA Hons. in Photography in 2008. Her work has been exhibited extensively in Ireland as well as Internationally.
In this episode of Out of the Darkroom, Ruth interviews Gerry Andrews, a prolific photographer whose body of work features images captured of Ireland in the 1970s and across the globe. In Gerry’s latest exhibit at the National Photographic Archive of Ireland, his stunning black-and-white portraits and photographs of the Limerick Milk Market (1971-1978) showcase the characters and people that traded in the market before it closed down. Gerry particularly enjoys documenting cultures that have dramatically changed and evolved and sharing his finding with the world.
