I bought this laptop as a christmas present for myself, it is great for the average user, there are a lot of neat widgets included and the speed is great!

I have suggested this laptop for my son. My father has this very model and he had the connectivity problems as the first reviewer here who gave this one star. He was having dropped signals and was very frustrated -- almost took it back to the store. I checked it out and found updated drivers for the wireless. This solved the problem and it has been rock solid since then. The manufacturers like HP set these machines up to go through the registration when turned on for the first time, they should also go through a driver check as well (not the same as Windows update).

I can connect to my wireless network (Linksys wireless N router), but the connection is very slow and then drops off. Several other computers have no problems on this wireless network. Also tried on other networks(starbuck's) and connection was slow there too. I spent over 3 hours on the phone with tech support to no avail. Took it back and got a new one and it has the same problem. There are many reports of this on the tech forum. I'm convinced there is a design flaw with this machine.

I gave two of these computers as gifts and they have a lot of features for a very low price. Great for web surfing or average computer use.

I got my laptop for Christmas and I love it. still getting used to win 7 after being an xp guy for ages. very quiet and it is cool to the touch when on for hours unlike some laptops where you need a cooling fan because it gets hot.

I recently bought this computer for my adult daughter and spent some time getting it set up. I found it easy to setup, although when I tried to generate emergency system recovery discs, the back-up process failed while burning the third disc. I should note that this also happened with a Pavillion 1150US laptop that I bought last summer. However, on each occasion, I called HP customer support and they immediately shipped factory replacement disks at no cost. In my view, that support bodes well for any future problems we might have. This seems to be a good solid basic machine at a very reasonable price. There have been no problems other than a some frustration with Windows 7, which is much different from my old tried and true XP Professional. But I can't blame that on the computer. I just have to spend some time learning learning the Win 7 software. I am impressed with the looks and the features this machine has, especially for the price. It is much faster in all ways than my old Lenovo laptop and a 3-year-old duel core desktop that I built, at least at this point. I am impressed by how fast it boots and shuts down (but of course it is not weighed down by all of the software that I have on the desktop (nor with the miscellaneous garbage that accumulates over time). I know that some of the speed is due to Win 7 and faster RAM. All in all, I am very pleased with this computer.

This is a very affordable laptop. This is my second HP laptop and I like this one better than the first. It's fast, quiet and fun to use. Best of all, I got it on sale and it was a lower price than WalMart.

This the best newly laptop that I ever used today. If you a type of a school person, this is just right for you. I go to high school and they have school computer which is the same but much way better. HP's company make my life easy, the features they put in was great. I left my laptop for 8 hours and not even 10% of my pc didn't heat up from the bottom a bit. I don't have to deal with the heats on my lap. HP's company is the best so far that I ever used so Thanks you. Best part is the rebate, which I mail in but still waiting for my rebate to arrive.
