Cool scope. Fun to see a star in "real time".
I got this on sale, so I was limited to the 4mm blocking filter.
If I paid full price I would go for the 6mm, but this is still fantastic!

Lunt LS50THA

I got it with B400 at 499USD from Adorama. One of the best deals in the recent years. Even with the original price, the image the Lunt LS50THA provided worth every penny. I used both Pentax XW 10mm and 7mm and got very crisp image. 50mm aperture definitely a level up compare other entry level solar scopse at 35mm or 40mm. Solar HA observation is not cheap. I believe this Lunt is the best C/P value everyone can get in this category.

The only complaint I have is that I can't afford a bigger one! This scope is really great, nice clear views of prominences and some forming spots. You can see the texture in the chromosphere. I will definitely want a stacking unit to fill the need for more detail. The helical focuser isn't my favorite and doesn't have enough back focus for my ccd, so no images yet. I will likely change out with a crayford. Great construction, feels very sturdy and packing is fantastic. Lunt is a winner in my book.
