I did get exactly what I ordered. It came faster than promised. What more could I want? Shortly after getting a semi-pro video camera my dog chewed up my mic. I researched thoroughly and found that Adorama had a replacement that was probably better than the original. It was not supposed to arrive until the day after a wedding I was shooting. It arrived a day before, plenty of time to check it out. The mic performed beautifully. Had I a complaint it would be that the mic didn't ship with a foam windscreen.

I got a stereo Audio Technica shotgun microphone AT835ST to use with my Sony camcorder DSR-350. Since I got this new Sony camcorder HXR-MC2000U I can not use this mic anymore because of its XLR plug. I bought this Sony ECM-CG50BP to use with my new Sony camcorder HXR-MC2000U thinking its sound pickup would be more sensitive than its own mic. Turn out I am wrong, its own mic is more sensitive than this Sony ECM-CG50BP, in another word the microphone that comes with the camcorder pick up sound much better, clearer, louder and in real stereo than this add-on Sony ECM-CG50BP. Buy only if you use with your camera, and have no choice.

The Sony ECM-CG50BP is a short shotgun electret condenser microphone with a super-cardioid directional response ideally suited for capturing medium range sound sources. The ECM-CG50BP is best-suited for use with camcorders such as the Sony HVR-HD1000 or HXR-MC2000. It's supplied with a shock-mounted cold-shoe mic holder, furry windscreen and short non-detachable cable including a 1/8" stereo mini plug. The ECM-CG50BP can be powered by plug-on powering or internal AA battery.
