Nikon's new D50 is a downsized and simplified adaptation of the highly regarded D70, trading some bells and whistles for faster AF speed, greater ease of use, and improved image performance. The smaller dimensions of the D50 allow Sea & Sea to save space and weight with the DX-D50, a super compact housing that is sturdy, stable and simple to maneuver. Intuitive and uncomplicated controls at easy-to-access positions permit fluent operation even in the most challenging underwater environments.

The newly-designed viewfinder offers corner-to-corner viewing and heightened clarity of camera data. The built-in leak sensor signals a water leakage problem; the semi-transparent, polycarbonate rear case provides a visual check. The conventional shutter release has been modified in favor of a more responsive lever, communicating with camera at a gentle touch. Sea & Sea's unique Quick Shoe device ensures quick and hassle-free camera/housing installation and removal.

The DX-D50 housing is equipped with two 5-pin N-connectors, compatible with Sea & Sea YS strobes. The DX-D50 is also compatible with a full range of Sea & Sea Nx ports for a variety of Nikkor lenses.
