Nice OEM lens hood.  Looks exactly as advertised.  Fits perfectly.  Seems to be good quality plastic construction.  Very satisfied.

Excellent Lens Hood

This lens hood INDEED DOES fit Generation I of the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM lens.  I confirmed that by taking one that I got from Canon and successfully attached it to my lens.  It's fit, solid attachment, and easy removal from its either deployed or stored positions is perfect via its lock button.

The only negative is that this hood doesn't have the matte fabric inner lining compared to the Canon EW-83H lens actually recommended by Canon.  But the EW-83M does have a rather matte finish to its plastic in place of the fabric.  So it's $30 for the EW-83M or $50 for the EW-83H, depending if the lock button of the M version is more important to you than the matte fabric lining of the H version.

Fit and function on Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM (gen 1) is perfect, sans matte fabric lining.

Having made mistakes in the past of buying other brands from places that don't have/carry Canon merchandise, I had to go and get what I wanted all over again. Don't make the mistakes I made - buy Canon gear, better made for the professional in all of us!

Canon customer for 20 + years

I purchased this lens hood intending to use it with the EF 24-105 IS STM lens.  However, I decided to upgrade to the EF 24-105 IS L lens which included a lens hood, so I returned this lens hood for refund.
